RIP David Bowie

Labyrinth. Favourite film of stoned grebby teenage girls circa 1998, along with Dark crystal and Time Bandits. Only one of these three films is any good and its the last one. Although Layrinth was funny for its songs.

I once came up on e and mushies on my own in a dark room listening to one of his greatest hits album. 'He's covered Man Who Sold the world!' thinks I 'He must rate Nirvana, what a gent'

Don't forget Labyrinth!

Lazarus (David Bowie)

Look up here, I’m in heaven
I’ve got scars that can’t be seen
I’ve got drama, can’t be stolen

Everybody knows me now
Look up here, man, I’m in danger
I’ve got nothing left to lose
I’m so high it makes my brain whirl
Dropped my cell phone down below

Ain’t that just like me

By the time I got to New York
I was living like a king
Then I used up all my money
I was looking for your ass

This way or no way
You know, I’ll be free
Just like that bluebird
Now ain’t that just like me

Oh I’ll be free
Just like that bluebird

Oh I’ll be free
Ain’t that just like me

Yep. Was absolutely amazing. Think I was in tears by the end

it was amazing wasn't it? I have no memory whatsoever of the rest of the weekend, and was physically & mentally totally exhausted (and peaking on acid) by the sunday night, and yet can remember it clearly - how utterly joyful it was in that field. And they nailed every song.

It was fantastic. I've got such amazing memories of that Glastonbury. [emoji4]

I only own five of his albums & I feel the need to buy more now. I imagine that's how it works & the record companies cynically bump up the prices.

Sod it, Oxfam will do.

I've had his full catalogue playing in sequence since I got up today. Amazing how many superb songs that you had forgotten about. Cygnet Committee for example, from Space Oddity.
me too, done the berlin trilogy, onto station to station now with breaks for BBC News and Radio 6
