Rinse FM

Top stuff with Cyrus in the studio too - hopefully it'll go up for download on the Rinse site shortly as it was dubplate classics all the way

Found some old cdrs, including this Youngsta and Task on Rinse from March 2005 - think it probably came from the Rinse forum originally. Just sums up the energy of the sound at that time - bassline devastation from Loefah and Skream dubs amongst others

cheers, it was that edge rolling half-step sound that got me into dubstep back then.... didn't dubstepforum have various pages of mixes from rinse?

still listen to Hatcha's "practice hours" mix, that's the best early dubstep mix imho

Finally dug out my DAB radio so I can install it in the kitchen for some Rinse while cooking

I can't get it to work on chrome for mac. Quicktime tells me I need to download extra bits but it doesn't tell me what those extra bits are. Anybody got any ideas? I'm getting withdrawal.

Not sure, I use safari on my mac and when I click the live stream, it opens up inside itunes, or I just download the shows from the archive. The direct stream address is http://podcast.dgen.net:8000/rinseradio.m3u if you can open it up from within quicktime, or itunes, whatever.

I've been enjoying uncle dugs Friday show recently, has some alright interviews as well. Heard a good one with bunter lately

Thanks Steph, hadnt spotted this, been on a day time lag and catching shows on Sunday lunchtimes this last month - Funk Butcher and T Williams do interesting stuff on the housier end of the spectrum. But hang on a minute - Funk Butcher now has two shows (friday and sunday)! And theres no room for Anti-Social? I just don't get this decision. Rinse must have known it was a big show, otherwise they wouldn't have put it on on primetime Saturday afternoon slot.

You never know whats going on behind the scenes - maybe there's a good reason. I cant imagine what though.

I've added my thoughts to the dubstepforum thread, and will be writing a very angry email goddammit!!

Bad news for true dubstep.

Added to my long list of radio disappointments...
