Ridiculous amounts of clothes

If you have ten identical socks how can you differentiate between them? If you wear sock 2 and 7, which are still an identical pair, how would you tell they weren't a matched pair? And why would you care anyway? You'd be wearing a 'pair of socks' that match.
Exactly, which is why you need different pairs of socks. One sock could get accidentally mixed with another sock from another pair cos it looks exactly the same.

Socks, t-shirts, and knackered jeans. I used them to stuff one of these:

I also had a substantial collection of old shoes and boots but they got culled Mrs Spy recently.

Likewise t-shirts, comprised of two distinct categories, band t-shirts and beer festival volunteer t-shirts, The latter category has ceased growing, as I've packed up working at beer fests, but band t-shirts remain a problem. I have to recite a mantra at any gig I go to "I do not need another t-shirt". I have 6 Eastfield t-shirts alone.

And Docs. Only 15 pairs at the moment, which is poor compared to others on here I know.

I am also rubbish at getting rid of old clothes. "I'll keep that for slobbing around in/ gardening/decorating etc.

The pouffe stuffing idea is a good one. I too want a Moroccan Leather pouffe, but when I went there the only ones I could find had "Souvenir of Morocco/Souvenir de Maroc" on them.

Those pouffes are beautiful, great idea to stuff with old fabrics! But they're not vegan and the faux leather ones look shit compared.

There are silver faux leather ones that I could just about countenance, but I suspect my life will remain pouffeless..:(

Search "Moroccan leather pouffe" on eBay.

I like them as well but I have a problem as the tanneries the leather comes from are hell for workers. My grandfather died before I was born of stomach cancer. I believe he worked as a tanner for sometime.

Good pictures but crap website name The Leather Tanneries of Fez, Morocco | Amusing Planet

I also have too many clothes cause I wear them till they fall apart and don't throw them out till them and even then I hang on to the special ones.

But that's not normal surely? I have never, ever owned a pair of socks where the left and right are different...

It is pretty standard - have a look and you're bound to find some with that embroidered into them. It's really helpful in pairing them properly.

I'm lucky if I pair them at all, never mind pairing lefts and rights. I'm still dubious but am now going to have to have a look later when I'm home.

I’ve got a crazy amount of clothes and more embarrassingly I’ve got quite a lot still with tags on.

I wear a fraction of it and am definitely going to Marie Kondo my clothes and shoes.

My shoes that I can remember. Not loads by some standards but quite a lot.
5 pairs of converse
2 other trainers (Gola that I got yesterday and Adidas for the gym which remain unworn)
2 Birkenstocks
4 or 5 havaiana flip flops
4 toms espadrilles
2 DM shoes and 2 boots
3 other ankle boots
2 wellies
2 Walking boots

There’s loads of others floating around. Heels I’ve worn once etc

How much room do 120+ pairs of shoes take up? I thought the amount I have cluttered the place up enough.

I keep most of mine in boxes. The ones that are over 20 years old are on the very top of the wardrobe. I dont have as many docs as moose. Probably have 30 pairs.. but they fill one side of the wardrobe. I've given some away recently and sold some on Ebay. Still have around 30 pairs...including sandals... :hmm::facepalm:

Forgive me twentythreedom for I have sinned. I stopped counting my Dr Martens after about 120 pairs.
OMG - I only have 19 pairs of shoes in total and that includes my canoeing shoes and wellies. I still think I have too much. I've got a ridiculous amount of socks though - I need to cull those. Think I've about 50 pairs. Really 20 should be enough -10 thick pairs for winter, 10 thin pairs for summer. That's usually how count/limit clothing, no more than 10 - because I usually get to the launderette within every 10 days.
