Poor buggers who work there - I doubt there'll be enough jobs in Teesside to provide alternative work, and certainly not at a decent rate of pay.Just announced via BBC breaking news ticker that plant will be mothballed with loss of 1700 jobs.
Remember they have no control over these forces...until the macro-economic metrics show some minuscule improvement.Poor buggers who work there - I doubt there'll be enough jobs in Teesside to provide alternative work, and certainly not at a decent rate of pay.
Government are twats for allowing this to happen - but sadly it isn't the first time, and won't be the last.
Then you have Osborn over in China banging on about investment in a northern powerhouse,(which we already had until the Tories destroyed it) the Chinese have dumped millions of tons of cheap steel on the world markets. That results in this. All bastards and now up to 8000 workers and their families will be affected due to the suppliers and service providers for the now to be mothballed steelworks in this already devasted region going out of business!
Some of those steels have quality issues. They may be cheap to buy but if they're not up to standard can cause expensive issues to fix later on.
The steel union Community are worse than rubbish they've done absolutely nothing to save the steel industry. There should have been a strike and occupation of the steel plants when they announced the closure of Redcar. Now they pick areas and plants off one at a timeFucking disgrace, and Cameron and Co wont give a shit as that area doesn't vote Tory.
