Recommend a fastish estate

I know that Busso engine is very well thought of. I've never been quite brave enough for Alfa. The last Guila is stunning though.
Superb. Pulls and pulls and pulls in every gear, silky smooth and does away with the need for a radio. The more I drive it, the bigger the smile gets.

Yeah, could have that myself... What do you reckon the final bid might end up being?
£5500 with 7 hours still to go From what I understand on these matters, they got their timing wrong. Wouldn't it have been better if
the auction had finished tonight or over the weekend.
I would still like it.

How many people have already said they keep mis-reading the title of this thread as

Recommend a fascist state

Just checked. It’s loads isn’t it,
.
I never seem to read it properly, but 'Fetish shite' seems to be the most commonly registered phrase.

I recently got a Mini Cooper S Clubman. It is seriously quick when you want it to be. In sport mode it's a pocket rocket. I know its small, too small as an estate for many, but it's surprisingly roomy for so small a car

I like the idea of small estates. I've had a good number of decent sized ones, but don't really need them anymore most of the time after changing jobs. Ended up buying a Passat last time as it was a good price but when the time comes I certainly want to go smaller, if just for the fuel saving.

UnderAnOpenSky I'm not convinced there is much on the way of fuel savings to be had - my 2.0 diesel has similar results to my mum's 1.5(?) diesel, better results than my wife's 1.5 petrol, and is vastly better than my dad's 1.8 petrol. All less than 3 years old.

Yeah I'd expect a diesel to destroy petrol on this one. It is quite nice to have the extra space, even if I don't use it loads. That said I worry slightly that to much of my milage these days is sitting in traffic to get to work for a diesel, only gets a proper long run a few times a month. Had a loan Focus ST when my car was pranged and it seemed about another 10 mpg better, although not an estate.

Not sure why I'm thinking about it as hopefully its a few more years at least till I need to worry, but looked up second hand Prius's earlier. Unsurprisingly their second hand price is rather high. When I looked before there wasn't much advantage for the long motorway runs I was doing over a diesel, but would be rather nice now.

I switched from a VW 2.0 diesel to a VW 2.0 petrol and for my mileage and journeys the difference is fuel consumption is negligible. The petrol is a lot more fun too.

I've just gone from a 2.0l tdi golf to 1.5l petrol golf. Fuel consumption not as good but as you say more fun to drive though.

Almost every single time there’s a new post I read it as just that. I would have said so numerous times but the point has been made aplenty already.

Obviously none of us here would be in any way sympathetic to any form of fascism, but the erroneous thread title that keeps suggesting itself to all of us here is still highly amusing. Perhaps we should start a joke thread in General to get it out of our system.

It’s still happening

When I park our 08 Clubby next to a Countryman the size difference is remarkable. The first gen hatch is tiny alongside the Countryman. We tend to refer to the Countryman as a fatty or fat boy. Not PC but quite accurate.

This might be a useful video for anyone looking for a fancier estate between £7-10k.

I would probably buy a Saab estate but thats probs not a very sensible option.
