Reclaim The Futures

The early turnoff of sounds was very very annoying ... :(

Twas a great party that could have been left alone by the EVIL POLICE for longer ... :(

Had a great time up til ca. 2 am, , but caught short after that ...

I wondered what all that drumming was outside my bedroom window the other night.
Then it turned into techno beats for a little bit then
more drumming and cheering/jeering people
then I looked outside and saw a police van blocking
fieldway crescent,
Having just done a six day week, I wasn't about to go down and join the fun.
ah well, you never get peace and quiet on the Holloway Road anyhow - party or no party

at first I thought it was the neighbours downstairs,
and I thought "great, its Saturday night, its about time
someone had a good party round here."
and I was so tired I think I would have slept on the
runway at heathrow :)

Oh and there's report of the excellent sounding workshop held by space hyjackers here
Which unfortuantely I missed, 'cos I got there too late.

Nope, venue is on the main road but it's hard to tell there's anything going on, apart from the gates, which was being very well managed by the organisers.
Well that situation didn't last long after I got there and it turned into one of the worst managed gates in the world until Thora went a fixed it but in the end her campaign for common sense was over ridden by nutters chucking bottles at the police - que riot cops, nothing came of it but for fucks sake what is this a party or a pitched battle against the establishment, I know what I signed up for.

Magneze has been on the phone, a bit lost in Hackney, bless...

He's back on track now, thanks to google map :D - the trains aren't running :(
Err yes, sorry for loosing you boy and that, I got spangled, wandered around god knows where, ended up on Temple Mills Lane which is practically Leyton (Scumtech one venue for those who where there and a very long way from Hackney Wick) and got air lifted out by Pixie (friend of Mation) who rescued me in a cab - ever lasting thanks the rave goddesses.

Yeah, what possessed people to think that throwing bottles at fellow party goers, unable to get in and trapped behind a very thin blue line, would be a good idea?
Fucking idiots.

I spend quite a lot of time just scooting around the forecourt, picking up empty bottles and putting them out of harms way.

i too got very lost on the way home, i was only trying to get to Homerton too... it was a nice party, the hackney one, lots of people were very friendly and helped me!

Bloody hell that was a messy one….

Good to finally meet you all, didn’t realise there would be such a big U75 turnout. Had a great time stumbling around and talking bollocks with Onket, Magneze, Kam, Zenie (what a mad trip to the bar that was :D ) and loads of other peeps, and a big thanks to the 1798 street massive for letting me stay and keeping the mojitas flowing. Feet of flames Tone, top man

I think I ended up at the Hackney warehouse, not sure what was going on by then tbh :D

FFS, I missed so much stuff at Malf due to muntednessness.

:( and :D at the dramas at home time. Tef took three hours to get back to st albans and then another 3 to get to Oxford, poor bastard. Worth it though.

i fell asleep on a patch of grass outside the mental health ward of Homerton hospital, about 1 minute away from my girlfriends flat where i was headed. when i finally got back i apparently smelt like i'd been rolling around in a bonfire, which wasn't impossible i guess.

I can't help but think it was all such a shame.

The building was packed before the trouble started. The very least that should have happened was that those already inside should have continued to have a fantastic party.

As it was the majority just bailed, and the sounds bottled it (and before the flamming begins, I completely understand how much pressure was being put on the rigs, and the need to save their equipment)

But, to be honest, (and I don't want or mean to criticise the organisers) it was a bit of a defeat in some ways.

I mean, if we can't even manage to have a party in a squatted builing anymore...it's bit of a sorry state.

What hope for anything slightly bolder?

When we were there in the afternoon the good Thora was on the gates, managing it well, it was really nice to see her there, totally unexpected too! I guess when she stopped being there it all fell to bits. Some people were definetely up for a riot, but I really don't see what good chucking bottles at the police is going to achieve.

Oh, yes, the Pixie! Sounds like you got even more lost than him, was she just driving by or did you call for help? That's the bit after parties that does my head in, lost and dazed and confused is not my idea of a good time. Glad you made it home safely :)

There's a lot to be said for having women on the door in these situations.
By the time of the trouble, the whole thing was very testosterone fuelled.

Actually, thora did say she might start posting here again. If you're reading this thora, I'd love to hear your opions of the event.
And do forgive me for trying to set you up with my mate (although he is very gorgeous and well read, and for some reason I had my matchmaker hat on that night.....;) :D )
