Paralympic Medals

Do they have the same gold content as the "normal" Olympics? I get the feeling that because there's so many of them they're gonna cut back on the ole AU ya know!

I thought I read somewhere the Olmpic medals this year contained around 1% gold, so it seems unlikely they'll contain much less.

It's gold-plated silver, however even that uses 6g of gold which - at current prices - is a ridiculous £200. You could buy 1.5oz of silver for the price of gram.
