It's the context though, he's trained all this life for this and is operating at the limit, then crashes.

Yeah... I have a degree of sympathy. I mean he's not helped by his evasive 'apology', but I don't really expect someone to be entirely rational when they've just hit the deck at 40mph, completely on the limit, in a career-defining event, probably with fuck all idea what just happened. I do like the chair idea mind.

It's not like football where they kick up that kind of fuss because they tripped over... :hmm:

No free trials on Eurosport anymore by the look of it, so it's sailing, boxing or nothing this morning. Bollocks.

So the English girl just got disqualified for her wheel going a few CM over a line. Meanwhile the Danish guy will probably be receiving his gold medal later after almost maiming someone. Weird sport!

Yeah, I still want Denmark to win as they have no one on the Ineos payroll. Plus I have a small double on them winning this and the Madison.

We seem to have resorted to climbing on the bbc. they seem to only show this if there's brits involved. send me a PM if you want a link to cycling.

People crash all the time on track. He wasn't almost maimed.

It's interesting that he was a backup and apparently Ed Clancy was never 100% ready...

Am I seeing this live, they're doing interviews over the bronze pursuit medal on BBC?

Well. There's a commentator on German TV who might disagree who is now paralysed. She was hit at a far slower speed than the guy yesterday.

That says she hit someone practising a standing start at 38mph.

Was that him at the end again as he had done a long push around 1500m?
Wanted Denmark to win but that was an awesome race. Chapeau.

I dunno, lost track, but he was three down a few laps back, and I imagine they planned it for him to take take the last pull.

Please can we a close up of the Danish rider's face. Or the damage he's currently wreaking on his coaches?

Disagree with what?. She crashed into someone stationary.
I thought the British cyclist finished the race?.

Really good final, Ganna is something else.

Is there a list somewhere of the speeds achieved in the men's pursuit? Yesterday I noticed the on-screen speedo hitting 70 kph for two of Italy's laps when Ganna was on the front in a middle pull. I was trying to keep an eye on the speedo in the middle pulls of the other teams and I didn't see anyone else faster than 68. (Apologies if 'middle pull' is an offensively ignorant term.)

Whatever Ganna is on, I want some.
