I had to sell all my scalextric when I was skint. Had a ton of classic that could make epic 4 Lane layouts including double goodwood chicanes
I know that graffiti covered stock does exist, but IMO it is vandalism, often (usually) ugly and I know it costs ££££ to remove (also dangerous to apply,)Wow. This guy makes mini graffiti for model railways!

Even heritage railways suffer from this.
therefore I feel this sort of thing should be discouraged !
partly.I sense you're actually serious about this? The model exists to reflect the real world, it doesn't create it
I don't really care much about trains (or model ones), but I get much more joy from a graffiti'd one than one that has it's banal corporate branding all over it. It's just joyless corporate graffitipartly.
my point is that it "normalises" the presence of something I don't think should be acceptable.
but I know that railway modellers as a group are not the same group that consider spray painting the landscape as a fully acceptable form of self expression.
the people at the Severn Valley Railway were seriously fed up with the graffiti "artists" that decorated some of their carriages a couple of years ago. I donated to the appeal to pay towards the repairs of the carriages, which needed repainting.
When they finish it off I'm sure it'll look great
People that do that need the fucking living shit kicked out of them.

I haven't been quite in that position, but I know the bods on the SVR. To say they were p1ssed off is the understatement of the millennium.Put yourself in the position of a preserved railway volunteer who's put heart and soul into restoring old rolling stock, and then comes in one morning and finds someone's decided to spray their 'art' all over it. How would you feel?

No, it fucking doesn't.Whilst it might be annoying on all your olde world Thomas the Tank trains, I think it makes the new stock look much brighter
Maybe the rail companies should prioritise real improvements instead of spending their money on turps then?It costs lots of money & time to clean that shite off, money that could be better spent on real improvements.

Real improvements would be made and the trains would look prettierWhat difference would that make?

Did I argue that?
CCTV everywhere makes people feel safer. Should we have more?tagging (and litter and broken windows) are all things that make the general public feel less safe in the afflicted area.
Not really I'm not that invested in what taggers do, just that it looks a bit more fun than your normal standard boring trainAh, so you're admitting that taggers are selfish pond-life who don't care what they're spraying their shite all over.
