Can you even remember your own emotive outbursts? The one that dragged me into it, in which you declared that the guilt of K was irrelevant compared to the possible innocence of her co-accused? All i actually said was that her guilt/innocence was quite important.

I do find the nationalist nature of newspapers' ideas of justice quite interesting (the only thing about this case, really). The British tabloid press usually bay for the blood of people before they've even been charged, but the moment it's a Briton on trial in the USA they get all teary eyed and concerned about justice. Equally, in this case, the American press has been pushing the bungling/corrupt/backwards Italian legal system angle, and suddenly everyone is an expert on the Italian legal system. The British, American and Italian public are all being fed different narratives, and frankly it's difficult to see any way of divining the truth through it all, assuming for some reason you want to.
