Marvel's Luke Cage - Netflix Original Series

I did find the concept of him being petrified of being sent back to jail and such sentiment influencing his actions later in the series a bit of a plot hole. What made him think he could not escape custody (or even evade being arrested in the first place) if his identity was revealed?

Finished this last night in one big binge a si couldn't sleep.
I thought it was cracking.
Loved the whole bullet holed hoodie fashion and the referencing of Trayvon Martin. Made a lot of sense.
Great baddie too, though rather a ridiculous costume at the end.
Some great in jokes too. Like Zip thinking Icarus was a rapper who'd guested on a Kendrick Lamar track.

Finished Luke Cage last night. Really enjoyed it, Luke Cage is such a bad ass. I love that he was quite a quiet normal dude. Loved the music and the social commentary. I loved the fact that it wasn't massively overt. There's a lot of reading between the lines and subtle nods to stuff that make it all the richer. It make not have been the best acted series but that's totally ok imo bc having a show with so many black and brown actors in it is just amazing.

I loved the series. Finished it last night.

I loved Powerman and iron first comics. Used to collect them. The whole 70s blacksploitation + kung fu thing was very entertaining to me at the time. I wasn't reading it critically - just enjoying it. Of course, in reflection they were massively racist.

Finished it just now and it was almost brilliant. I think it was maybe a few eps too long and when
Cottonmouth is killed, the story wobbles a bit
also, I was not convinced by
the Diamondback character, who didn't really add to the show

Great soundtrack and some great actors like Mahershala Ali, Rosario Dawson and Simone Missick. Of course, now I've got to watch Iron Fist, just to be a completist...

I enjoy all the marvel tv stuff, but it is overlong and too slow much of the time.

DD and JJ was perfect for me. Defenders, again, a bit too long but great once the characters come together. The other shows like SHIELD and Agent Carter are lighter but still good fun. The latter is the least Marvelish and it's more of a period spy show but it may change in the second season...
