Lunch should have its own thread

Carrot sticks and taramaslata and some cashews.

It doesn't sound like much, but that's because I had breakfast (half a pitta and more tara and a boiled egg) and then brunch (half a roast pepper, stuffed with tomato, anchovies, garlic and mozzarella and some leftover vegetable bake) before I went out. :D

Fried egg, chips and baked beans
Served with one, possibly two slices of soft white bread and a can of lager on the side

Please note this is not my actual lunch but an artists impression

I think the sauce will be tomato but might get racy and go for brown today

i had twirly pasta with a can of mackerel in tomato sauce and lots of Encona.

pasta and something from a jar/tin is my lunch pretty much every day, as you can do it all with one hand

I made myself a delicious wrap for college....chilli/garlic/ginger king prawns in a wrap with lettuce, sliced tomato and homemade coleslaw.

Hmm what makes it lunch exactly, the time or the type of meal.
I ask having just had my first thing of the day to eat, a feast icecream at 7pm. That make it breakfast or dinner.

today's lunch is:

roast beef, roast potatoes, yorkshires, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, green beans, real gravy

followed by:

apple crumble and cream.

Damn this madness...

Starving today
Town is a 10 minute walk away and it is pissing down

Leaves me with the choice of an expensive pub lunch (no chance sadly) or the crappest sarnies on earth from the local crap shop

Spinnach soup from the canteen -which was nice, but tasted suspiciously like an entire carton of cream had just been added to a bit of chopped of spinnach.
And some bread that I made yesterday. Nice but I need a bit more practice to get the taste right as it still tastes a bit bland.

I haven't eaten chocolate for nearly 5 days!! Well, apart from the small chocolate I had on Sat night but that doesn't count.

Yesterday I had homemade butternut squash soup, made with roasted squash, red onions and garlic and some carrots which I simmered with some leftover stock from a gammon hock, then all blitzed up till smooth. We had it with grated gruyere and thick white toast.

Today will probably be beans on toast, although I'm considering doing that for dinner, in which case we'll have.......something else!!! :hmm:

Vegetarian super food sandwich of the week from Eat, which was rather yum. Goats cheese, grated carrot, beetroot and bean sprouts.
And for desert, a packet of minstrels
I should have stopped at the sandwich. Feel sick and bloated now :(

Today is our weekly trip to the noodle bar, so I’ll either have chilli-vegetable ramen, or ma-po tofu with rice… mmmmm… it’s a tough choice….

all iceland. all processed. battered haddock fillet. super noodles. swiss roll.
this is the food of modernity. created by science. full of future promise.

A burger cooked in the George with dijon mustard mayo and ketchup and proper processed sliced cheese in a bun. It would have been heaven but there is no onion because I couldn't be arsed.
