Lunch should have its own thread

Sorry :D It just sounded like you'd been diagnosed with some weird scabbing disease or something.

"Darling, I'm afraid it's bad news...I've got Soreen."

Hmmmm....

I have got sarnies but already eaten one and the hunger remains.

There is £1.20 + a load of coppers in my desk drawer, I wonder what nutritious lunch I can purchase with this amount?

Options are Waitrose and Sainsbury's

I'd go for a tub of hummous, a roll and a big carrot!

I've got salad, some roquefort, a pear and some german rye bread which is all very well but I am hungover and want a FRY-UP that has the worst kind of CHEAP SAUSAGE and FRIED BREAD *drools*

Things are looking up, I just found another 20p coin so might be able to scrabble together £2.00 in total.

Crunchy batavia lettuce, some of those little date tomatoes, cucumber, tuna and a couple of hard boiled eggs - speaking of which I tried a different way of boiling them last night. I read somewhere that if you bring the water to the boil and then very gently simmer them (as opposed to my normal method of boiling them furiously) it minimises that black ring around the yolk, although you still have to put them in cold water afterwards. Something to do with the sulphides and temperature or summat. Anyway, it worked!

I had oatcakes with chicken liver pate, le roule cheese and anchovies (not all at the same time iyswim...although I did mix the cheese and the anchovies).

Having a cup of tea now and then a nectarine, for health! :D

smoked salmon
steamed courgette, broccoli, cauliflower
a few raw carrots
a couple of strawberries
an apple

Somerset brie and date tomato toastie, with some lettuce and cucumber. It was lush, I love my mini George Foreman.

A wholemeal roll, some smoked mackerel, and a pack of medjool dates. My colleagues went out for a delicious fat-soaked chinese meal. May the bones of their ancestors be eaten by dogs.

A prawn/carrot/lettuce/sweetcorn/spring onion/cherry tomato salad with caesar dressing and garlic croutons.

And now I'm going to have a nectarine and then a chocolate digestive with a nice cup of tea.

Today's lunch was exceptionally scrumptious:

chicken breast roasted with red peppers and ginger in a touch of olive oil

1 poached egg, 2 organic pork chipolatas, 2 rashers organic bacon, 1 slice bury black pudding, 1 organic tomato (all grilled). 1 big slice of buttered wholemeal seeded bread, Tesco value baked beans and a mug of strong tea.

Tea will be served later. Much later

Hungry today and did not make sarnies.

Will hang on till 12:00 and then dash to town for some supermarket goodies. Not sure what to get but depends on what is on offer I guess.
