Lunch should have its own thread

Callaloo with rice and peas from a stall in the market, which I was very excited by. It wasn't brilliant though :(

Oo, I had half a carton of that New Covent Garden sweetcorn and chilli chowder, and very nice it was too! Can't say I noticed much heat in it, and think it could probably do with a tad more in it, but the flavour and consistency were surprisingly good. Had it with two big fat thick white slabs of bread, toasted and buttered. Nom.

Tomato rice, dumplings, Teriyaki chicken

Massive salad (rocket, broccoli, green beans, radish, spring onion, carrot, red cabbage, raw beetroot) topped with tuna and black eye beans and dressed with EVOO+balsamic.

Portobello mushrooms/halloumi/griddled pepper/pesto in a massive bun, with very nice coleslaw, 2 pints of Buxton Bitter, at Buxton Tap House.

I had the other piece of turkey from last night's tea, a bag of rocket and some cucumber and cherry tomatoes. Then a chocolate & peanut protein cereal bar thing coz it was a shit lunch and I didn't get it until gone 3:30pm.

What my daughter calls a choosy lunch, with baguette, cheddar, shropshire blue, lettuce, artichoke hearts in oil, crisps and a weird salad thing made of multicoloured tomatoes, black olives, walnuts and flat leaf parsley. Then shortbread.

Re-hydrated TVP mince in a supermarket-brand Vindaloo sauce.

It's like treating one's tastebuds to a cheap, filling, low-calorie and slightly bleugh taste of the future dystopia.

I've just had a falafel, avocado, tomato and mango pickle sandwich. I think I'll have another one. Then another coffee and some chocolate. Then I'll start on my essay, promise :(
