Lost Prophets...

You actually have to produce the evidence though.

I was speaking to two of the reporters at the case yesterday - they were pretty shaken up by what they'd heard (and one of them had sat through weeks of the April Jones case). The report they filed had to be pretty selective and we issued a warning before it was broadcast. He is utterly depraved.
God, if the journalists were shaken up by what was said, just imagine (or don't) what the police must have had to go through to bring the case. And what the CPS and defence lawyers must have had to trawl through- just horrific.

Meth corrupts the soul. I'm not normally one to point the finger at drugs but I can't think of any other explanation.

I dunno why I opened this thread but as I'm here - will everyone just stop talking about it. I'm seeing it on Facebook, on here, on twitter and I don't want to know. I don't need to know to protect my son, it's a statistical anomaly in risk terms and it makes me sick and sad. Lock him away for forever and never mention it again. :(

Eh? Paedos is as paedos does innit

Nope. There's been reports of increases in the counts of child abuse in communities where meth has taken hold, maybe some of those people were already noncey but they never would have acted on it if it hadn't have been for the effects of the meth affecting their cognitive reason. Still no excuse though.

Child abuse or paedophilia?

This, really. I'm completely horrified that even one person would behave in such an utterly fucking repellent manner, but finding two others?

Well I guess you don't find them in a ready-made state to indulge in such horrors. You find people who for various reasons are going to come under your spell, easily exploitable and subject to your power. You rely on all sorts of relatively normal human emotions and forms of power play, and then take these to the extreme and go off in hideously dark directions.

We are unlikely to be able to explore these phenomenon in full via this case because of certain anonymity requirements designed to protect the victims.

Almost unbelievably awful. I assume he had children with these women in order to abuse them?

Ah, I haven't read anything about the case but thought the women were young fans he'd been grooming over a period of time and with texts between them talking of incest.

This is going to get grim i'm afraid - the incest was between the mothers and their children.

I'm not sure they would say if one or more of the kids were his, due to the need to protect victims identity?

The kids would be better off with new identities surely? The one silver lining is that they probably won't remember the abuse because they were too young, and if they're removed to other homes they could potentially grow up without ever knowing they were a part of this case. Would be the best solution I think.

I was thinking about that this morning.... but surely they would be obliged to tell the kids?

After it MAY affect them in later life...? How can anyone know? They could grow up to be really fucked up and not know why..

Of course, if they did know, then they would definitely be fucked up by it

Not to mention his bandmates, and his own family and friends. He's destroyed loads of people's lives. Its horrific.

I reckon social services would take the view that the children would have to right to know at least the barest details of what happened at the beginning of their lives and how they came to be in care. Things that happen before the age of 2 do have a profound effect on people, even if they don't remember it, and especially if it involves the care they receive from their mothers.

They won't tell them till they are adults though, will they?

I don't know, guess it will be for adoptive parents to decide. I would expect they would have questions about how/why they were removed from their birth mothers long before adult hood though.

I've had two people in the last day tell me that they'd heard stuff years back. A mate I was giving a lift up to Shellac said that he had been invited to a forum back in about 2004/5 where people were saying that he was into all sorts of shit. Someone else who used to do music reviews for a website said that everyone knew that he "he liked them young". When he was about 25 he was allegedly taking a 15 year old home who reviewed for the same site.

Are there no dads in the picture? (I'm assuming not but haven't seen anything written about them either way).

They found loads of vids of him and underage girls as well.
