The Christie Films archive has now been backed up:
Compañeras/os

The Stuart Christie film archive, the largest archive of anarchist films anywhere, is now live and free for all to access .

The collection can be viewed for free here: Stuart Christie Archive

From Kolektiva:

"We are happy to announce that we have been working with the Stuart Christie Archive and Kolektiva.media to make Stuart's video archive available on their PeerTube instance.

Below is Kolektiva's statement about the collection and why it's important:

'What some consider to be the most expansive collection of anarchist films and videos, has been recently added to PeerTube channel Kolektiva.Media. The collection was the brainchild of legendary Scottish revolutionary Stuart Christie, and was available for free on his book distribution website Christie Books. Christie came to international prominence for his attempt to assassinate Spanish fascist dictator Francisco Franco, when he was just 18 years old. Stuart Christie passed away in the summer of 2020, and since then, a collective of volunteers took up the task of creating a digital archive of his writings and film collection.

"This is the largest archive of anarchist films anywhere" said Kolektiva.media's member Heatscore. "When we heard that Christie died, we were afraid that the collection would be lost forever, so we contacted the folks in charge of his archive and they agreed to make a back up on our PeerTube channel".

PeerTube is a video streaming software that utilizes peer to peer technology similar to BitTorrent, to serve videos online. Kolektiva is a collective of anarchists working to provide alternatives to capitalist social media giants like Facebook and YouTube.

"The collection is massive, with over 500 films and videos from everything from dramas of the Spanish Civil war to documentaries to Chinese anarchism for example" said Kolektiva's member Eme.

The entire Stuart Christie film collection can be viewed for free at Kolektiva.Media on the Stuart Christie Archive channel."

im suspecting some kind of anarcho sharing structure that works in theory but not in practice ;)

none of the videos play for me - i think its like trying to download a torrent if noone is seeding?

As the execution method of choice during the French Revolution, the guillotine represents popular revolt in the minds of many. Saint Andrewism examines its history and what it represents for our future.

Diem and his CIA advisors did more than use the guillotine to repress the Communists. That's why the fightback was so pant-shittingly viscious, and state power began to collapse as the insurgency eventually gained momentum, and police, army and local notables wouldn't dare lift a finger. When people unleash terror upon you, you have to destroy your enemies, literally. Violence, and its uses, has to be reckoned with.

A continuation of the discussion with Zoe Baker on the Alpha to Omega podcast. Discussing: anarchist militaries, marxist sects, council communism, trade unionism, the Durruti column, labour vouchers - collectivism and communism, parties and electoral politics (again) and limits to powers of delegates and representatives.

New video series from sub.media:

A four part mini-series focusing on the various dimensions of intergenerational relationships amongst anarchists. Part One is a collection of anarchist origin stories from the late 60s through to the early 2000s. Listen to Ashanti Alston, Helen Hudson, Ann Hansen, Frank, Ian Bone and Cindy Milstein recount the pivotal and historical moments that led them to anarchism and why.

This one is hosted on the same site as the Christie archive, but actually seems to work when I try playing it?

Also, here's a short video from Dwayne Staats and Jarreau Ayers, two of the people involved in the 2017 Vaughn prison uprising:

An interesting interview with Irish anarchist Alan MacSimoin (now deceased) about his political experiences and the campaigns/struggles in Ireland from the late 60's and in the 70's through to the 80's:

A response from Lucky Black Cat to two videos by Andy Puzder: “Socialism is actually selfish” (channel: Young America's Foundation) “The Inherent Greed in Socialism” (channel: The Daily Signal):

Well I've watched this twice now. It's a bit of a small academic book in video form and doesn't really have a rounded let alone punchy character. The humour is falling a bit flat with me and she hasn't made the topic particularly relevant. A discussion of envy, along with a critical discussion of Freud and Nietzsche skirting anti-left rhetoric from the right. On close inspection I'm on board with it, but I had to pay careful attention as first time round I felt it was a bit off. It's a very nuanced and interesting essay but not especially well constructed. Still looks (and sounds) amazing in places - her beheaded Marie Anotoinette is all sorts of stunning. Been a long, long time waiting.

Just to mess up the thread a bit. Here's a youtuber I subscribe to but I haven't thought of him as being particularly political in anyway. So it's interesting when he comes out with something like this. And he's done a grand job. Georg Rockall Schmidt on tax avoidance and government complicity.

Many political figures and influencers calling for "socialism" are actually for Social Capitalism. A great video by Post-Comprehension.

I don't have much time at all for Russell Brand these days. But I thought this discussion with Carne Ross from 3 years ago was very good:
