Keir Starmer's time is up

It's tomorrow, according to the Farmers' Guardian.

It'll be like the protests against the hunting ban all over again - tweed and Barbours everywhere.

Farmers' protest
It's got Clarkson riled which sounds right to me. Buying land to try and hide your money, Labour Party comes for your taxation, that's how it should be, I had thought.

I don't understand why they don't just make their farms into a Ltd company or whatever. Make their kids the directors or owners when they get old, or specify that is what will happen in their will. The there's no inheritance tax and they can stop whining. All their equipment is company assets.

Really big landowners often have the land held in a trust, which I believe is more beneficial in tax terms as there's no corporation tax.

I believe that Tory cunt Richard Plunkett More-Names-Than-Tommy-Robinson-Drax's gaffe, which accounts for 2% of the whole of fucking Dorset, is held in such a way for tax purposes. It has what is allegedly the longest wall in England, to make sure no riff-raff get into his garden. Anyone who's driven down the Dorset stretch of the A31 will have noticed it, it goes on for fucking ever.

Tax is for the little people

I had no idea when I drove past that wall 14 years ago what the hell was going on as I'm not from round there. Truly unbelievable and as you say it goes on for fucking ever with added gates with a huge deer/stag statue on top. Fucking slaver bastard.

The trust loophole would be a fun one to get rid of. Nobody uses that who isn't disgustingly rich. I mean I know they'd still paint themselves as poor helpless victims. The stately home set are already doing this, claiming that their businesses* are at risk and that their work as caretakers of heritage assets that the public can only ever see via google earth goes criminally underappreciated.

*providing wedding venues for millionaires and pheasant-shooting weekends for suburban sadists.

That's the one. Another gate has a lion lying along the top.

They've got a house available if you fancy it House to let.

The neighbours are probably dreadful though.

My stepson's mother is leaving her house in a trust to avoid inheritance tax, and although she has an expensive house she's probably not worth over a mill (although it may be more when her father dies and she inherits a third of his money/house). She had her own business before she retired.

It was a tax consultancy, so she knows every loophole.

The amount of times we have driven past that with the occasional glimpse inside. Sure I saw a big drive lined with large statues of various ancient gods . Very bizzare.

Historian Hilary Beckles estimated that close to 30,000 enslaved African men, women and children died on the Drax Caribbean plantations over 200 years.[5] By 1832 there were 275 people enslaved on the plantation producing 300 tons of sugar and 140 puncheons of rum.[6]

The estate continues as a sugar plantation but Drax Hall is closed to the public, although its grounds spanning much of the eastern landscape of the parish of Saint George are open to visitors. The current owner is Richard Plunkett-Ernle-Erle-Drax, a British former member of parliament

WTAF😡

Was just watching this immigration vid from Trudeau. So different to Uk political style but it's way more explicit and we could do with some of it.
Can't see Starmer doing it any time soon, he's just not a Trudeau smoothie.
