Some of this is about the high street and highlights fears about it's demise; post offices, pubs, banks, libraries etc.

Inside towns left desolate as pubs, banks, libraries and swimming pools close

Whether shopping online or using self-scan tills at the supermarket, there's less human interaction in everyday life - and closing rail ticket offices will increase it

I wouldn’t say that Brixton’s gentrification has bought much apart from it being as run down, quiet, boarded up etc than I can ever remember it. The worse thing about that is that doesn’t even equal prices will fall, not in this day and age!

Far from just a Brixton thing though. Or even a gentrification thing.
People don’t go out like they used to. Deliveroo, TikTok and Netflix instead of pubs, clubs and restaurants. Sounds very boomer but think there’s more than an element of truth.

Before dating apps sat at home you’d think “well mr or miss right is not going to be found here”, even perhaps subconsciously throwing you out into the world somewhat. Now you just pick up your phone. Easy and great you could argue but then things are lost in that process.
