Is it cheaper to do one full tumble dryer load or two halves?

Beijing winters are mostly dry and sunny, so dry you produce static, so hanging washing on hangers in the front room even when it's minus ten out it will be dry by afternoon or next morning if heavy, which is handy with kids - the room is in the "north building" i.e. south facing with big windows of an old-style farm compound. Small bonuses of crappy continental weather system. If it gets above freezing in the day you can stick it out on the line in the yard for a bit to get a freshening finish, the air's OK here because we back right onto the mountains.

Yeah I frickin hate clothes horses. Always getting in the way and just making the place look messy. Also in the depths of winter you have to have the heating on anyway or they take forever and a day to dry. Tumble dryers FTW.
Not had a tumble drier in years. Was more trouble than it was worth.

Tumble dryer is essential during winter. I’ve managed to hang stuff out in the garden this week, then finish it off in the t/d
We had to bring the tumble drier in out of the (concrete) shed as it apparently is useless under 5c. Even as a fancy pants heat pump thing with ridiculous energy rating. Finally got the thing out of the kitchen but I don't fancy migrating the thing each year. It's not a damned flock of birds. Got two parrots in the living room already.
