Industrial music and its relationship(??) to fascism

what, the fascist music scene? death in june, mentioned in the post to which i was responding, are definitely dodgy.
Says the person who uses a pic of a man who abandoned his wife and kids and pretty much tortured victor Neuburg during the Choronzon ritual and left him bereft then hung his next wife upside down in a cupboard as part of his Occult practice ....

I don't think Deadcuts are even together anymore tbh .The singer mark was a strict Socialist though who quoted Engels a lot .Ill ask and get back to you regarding the film .
Thanks!
So you personally weren't in the film, and never collaborated with hip hop legends Flatbush Zombies or Boyd Rice?

Earlier in the thread we talked about how the danger of this stuff is the normalisation of the ideas, concepts and aesthetics behind it. That they are no longer seen for what they are, then then it transpires that they never were all those bad things, those bad things themselves then no longer are no longer seen for what they are. That's obviously what has happened to in this little scene howl is part of. Of course, behind the motivated ideologues who are working to this plan there are the simple oh how shocking crew who, if the former's plans ever came off would have to ask themselves how they could continue to be so disgustingly transgressive/just exploring certain areas and boundaries (snigger) when their shtick has become utterly the norm.

Keds looks like an exhumed johnny thunders. #justsayno.

When he was in the senseless things my then gf was obsessed by him - he was v good looking in a clean skin healthy teenager way. Lost count of the number of times i was dragged to see them supporting or vice versa the mega-city four in those dark dark days. Ugh. Imagine being Steve Lamacq.

also a zombie these days
I often have bbc6 on at work in the afternoon, he still plays lots of the same stuff and finds various ways to plays those same bands over and over: lost bands of the period 89-92., first band you saw (in 89-92), what t-shirts did you buy at a gig (89-92). did you do a fanzine (in 89-92). He also plays police and thieves every few weeks to meet his targets. He also somehow managed to play out of nowhere Mr Vegas Heads High earlier this week. Not sure he quite knew what he was playing there, not sure that song really gets across bbc6 corporate message.

Great new features lads; 'Songs from the late 80s you never hear played on the radio' & 'Songs from the early 90s you never hear played on the radio'. I'll start you off with a lost classic from er Primal Scream.

tbf to Lamacq, his job is to play comforting hits from youth for middle-aged indie fans. Heads High just happens to be one of the few dancehall songs that broke through during the short window of time when those middle aged indie fans were regularly smoking weed. the lyrical content doesn't really matter 'cause they can't tell what he's singing - as long as it's not calling for the execution of gays we're all good.

All fair enough, i don't mind the bloke at all and do like the fact he still has energy to get involved in the stuff he likes.

killer b :So your saying because at one time The stooges, Mick Jagger , Sex Pistols wore SS badges at one time and Lemmy who had a closet full of war time memorabilia ( majority German) must be a Nazi right ? Why don't you actually write a post about real neo nazis or KKK? and by the way to be a dictator you don't need to be a nazi - stalin did a great job and Pol pot starved a whole country to death .

Ah, no evolian apolitia here. Makes me wonder just what you're getting out of the band. You're surely missing every reference, every allusion, every point.

go away you freak - this is the Steve Lamacq Hate Thread now.

You must RESPECT his work to keep record shops alive surely!
I like records and still buy them regularly, but I think they're mostly just for rich white old dudes now. I don't think I care too much about them going - they no longer serve the same community & cultural purpose they did even 10 years ago.

which original question? the one about Lemmy and punks with swastikas?

I reckon people who briefly flirted with nazi iconography as kids were being daft but if there's no sustained interest I'm happy to write it off as youthful foolishness. Lemmy's massive collection of nazi memorabilia does make me think he was probably a bit dodge though, yeah.

That got me wondering whether that market segment is served by wig shops at all. If not, then who knows...
no, the balding middle aged indie fans all have number 1s all over - the 21st century's toupe. The wig shops are exclusively for the cancer victims and old ladies these days.
