But doesn’t the story say that people who have been underperforming during Covid have got the sack?

I got the sack once for not turning up. I was off my face on speed and called in sick . Fair enough. My bad.

If this comment is the best you're capable of, I think you should be concerned about getting sacked for underperforming again.
