Hurricane Sandy - "Perfect Storm"

Right, so there was the Great Storm (not hurricane) of 1987
An as yet unidentified storm of 1988
and Hurricane Hugo in 1989

:D

I'll see if I can figure out what the 1988 one was
...and The Burns Day Storm in 1990 (which is where Gordon Kaye got hit by some debris). Just to confuse things even more

I saw this Tornado over the Solent. It was unremarkable :(

Wait, wasn't Greebs talking about 87? I am Confucius now :(
Sorry, trying to work it out. Not 89 because it wasn't the same year the wall came down. Not 88 because I was in Paris. Which leaves 87 or 86.

I think you've probably lost a year of your life and you're not aware of it :hmm:
No, all accounted for. The storm I'm thinking of was one of the first 2 years I was at the poly, because otherwise I would have been on the other side of the river (final year) or across the Channel (3rd year).

Right, you need to sort it out and get back to us

1986 - A possible as yet unidentified storm that the UK may have caught the tail-end of?
1987 - The Great Storm
1987 - Possible Greebo Haircut
1988 - 2.12 Hurricane Florence
2.13 Hurricane Gilbert
2.14 Hurricane Helene
1988 - Greebo in Paris
1989 - Hurricane Hugo
1989 - Fall of the Berlin Wall
1989 - Possible Greebo haircut

In this thread we fondly reminisce about windy days we had first hand experience of twenty-odd years ago based on our memories alone. And to Hell with facts.

I blame Greebo for getting my dates mixed up

Actually, if you google, you'll see loads and loads and loads and loads of people who get the 1987 and 1990 storms mixed up. I forgot about the 1990 because it wasn't as bad as the 1987 one
