Right, so there was the Great Storm (not hurricane) of 1987
An as yet unidentified storm of 1988
and Hurricane Hugo in 1989



I'll see if I can figure out what the 1988 one was

...and The Burns Day Storm in 1990 (which is where Gordon Kaye got hit by some debris). Just to confuse things even more

No, all accounted for. The storm I'm thinking of was one of the first 2 years I was at the poly, because otherwise I would have been on the other side of the river (final year) or across the Channel (3rd year).

I went up to Newcastle once for a couple of months and didn't return for 12 years, most of which are a bit of a blur.

Actually, if you google, you'll see loads and loads and loads and loads of people who get the 1987 and 1990 storms mixed up. I forgot about the 1990 because it wasn't as bad as the 1987 one
