I would have loved to have seen this fight happen a few years ago, around 2004, but never mind.

Should be an interesting fight, both are exceptional defensive fighters so I'm quite intrigued as to how it'll pan out.

There could hardly be a bigger contrast between the two fights. Hopkins and Wright are hugely technically skilled, defensive counterpunchers. Maccarinelli and Braithwaite will be more like a human version of rock em sock em robots - two lads just standing there and pounding each other. As you say, it won't last long and, as sometimes happens, the fight with much less boxing skill on display will probably be much more entertaining.

I'd feckin forgotten that was on, cheers I love Cruiserweights, they tear lumps out of each other. this should be cracking.

Didn't watch it properly due to stuff, was it a good fight? don't they have a 80/90% KO rate between them or something ridiculous.

Yeap it was a good fight imho , i think it done maccaranelli a favour really let him show case his talents a bit more and show he can do 12 rounds . the french fella who holds to belts looks a useful unit . not seen his whole fights though so i am basing that on clips .

i shall be sky plusing the next one to late for me !

yep, i'd agree with that - cruiser weight = (mobile) heavy weight - makes for much more entertaining fighting atm, rather than watching 20stone of Danny Willaims wobble around the ring with 20stone of Matt Skelton, imho.

Not a massive boxing fan but watched Enzo cos it was on, and he's Welsh like. Couldnt believe how quick his hands were for a big guy. Tis good that ITV are having regular boxing again the sport has lost out I'm sure by it all being on Murdochvision.

What about that Gavin Rees commentator started by saying that some peeps wondered how he got a crack at title, and he wins it by a margin!!

I loved <heart> that fight. It was a FIGHT.

as a big time fight fan it was a pleasure watching 2 guys of that calibre fight like those 2 fight last night. 2 master technicians face to face.

Wasn't the best war we've ever seen, and I thought Winky fought the wrong fight to start with, his come forward assault approach wasn't him.

But the skill of the both is exceptional.

I even loved the refs commets at the start about how they are both world champions, both professional champions etc..

Hopkins is quite canny with the use of his head, without blatantly headbutting etc.. but it is a fight after all. a fight.

Loved it, absolutely loved it.
