Yeah from what I can see they were and still are obsessed with the Assad regime to the point of almost denying anything bad or even significant about any of the other forces in Syria, including ISIS but especially jabhat al nusra etc.

While complaining about "the left" allying with radical Islam...

That never started in Syria . Hezbollah and the Lebanese left have been close for well over a decade now . Since Nasrallah assumed leadership . Personally I wouldn't describe Hezbollah as a radical Islamic group any more . Despite the occasional mad mullah still knocking about . They're primarily a national resistance organisation and much of their current position reflects that role .
