I helped out a bit sourcing stuff for this amazing Pico Soundsystem here in Melb ( The only one outside Latin America). I never knew about this sub-culture of Pico systems till I got involved!

Looking at the vibrancy of the colours of the painted cover(?) I'm guessing that they could have been painted with UV paint - in a club / night time environment with UV bulbs they would look even more impressive if that were the case

They play a very varied selection of Cumbia/ Jazz / Funk and a bit of reggae. They advertise a lot on PBS radio ( which I hope you have discovered here in Melb !)

There's various videos floating around of rigs like that, seems to be a big scene of soundsystem battles. They never appear to play any actual music as such, just test tones and kick drum hits. I suspect this is because full music would sound utterly dreadful

I don't have the room for one thing, but the list of things is long
I do have room for a smaller floor standing vintage speaker, about the size of a wooden chair iynwim.
I'm starting to think 1 mono cabinet, I guess a small amp on top, accessed by WiFi. Need to muse on it. Advice welcome. Self powered cabinet would be ideal, but Bluetooth is the only signal source for what I've got in mind
