Abbott is odious, but Meg Hillier the current Hackney South MP is just as bad (she's been very evasive about faith schools, for example).

Last night, a number of the people in Hackney who do not consider one of the borough's MPs, Diane Abbott, "odious" or "repugnant" or whose response to the mention of her name is "I can't stand her!!", responded to the decision of Sir Keir Starmer KCB KC MP to suspend her from the parliamentary Labour Party for nearly eleven months while his officials "investigate" a two paragraph letter which was 7-8 sentences in length, following the news this week that the Conservative Party's principal financial donor has called for her assassination.

I’m really not sure what something I said in 2011 has to do with the current debacle and I actually agree that the length of the Labour Party investigation is a pisstake.

I’ve been nagging Thames Water about it. Which backfired as all they have done is put padlocks on the gates at either end of that path.

So before you could still get down there and clamber over the tree if you were reasonably able bodied. But now you need to climb over two locked gates too.

Yes, I've noticed that, I guess they're not in a hurry to do anything as there is no sailing traffic on the New River and the ducks and swans can still pass underneath it.

I drive past that most days I'm at work and noticed it again today.

Had lost track of how long it's been down now, tbh.

Looks like it's only the branch between Hackney Downs and Chingford that's affected, not the branch that goes to Seven Sisters.
