Trying to equate Celtic v Rangers with say Brighton Hove Albion v Crystal Palace is plain stupid. There is not a shared 'it' between them; they do not come out of the same context, they are not expressed in the same ways, they are not experienced in the same ways, they do not mean the same things. What you are doing is both lazy (not taking account of the huge differences in history, practice, experience and meaning, preferring instead to focus on the very limited similarities) and arrogant (providing yourself with some moral high ground to stand on from where you can look down on all the 'tribal' people).

From my reading of your posts that is why people are taking exception to what you have written.
