I have something in common with a "Royal"!
Kate and I both have one of these...

Are you also being treated by the best oncologists in the world on the taxpayers' dime?
Not sure you get private oncology wards. I doubt her actual treatment will differ from anyone else in the uk.Are you also being treated by the best oncologists in the world on the taxpayers' dime?
I'm being treated by the Oncologist and surgeon and nurses and radiologists and phlebotomists and physiotherapists that the NHS have given me. I hope and trust they are competent in their chosen fields.
And, yes, it's on the taxpayers' dime - for which I am eternally grateful.
God bless the NHS ❤
Just catching up on this, but wtf is Owen Jones apologising for exactly? What did he say that was suddenly changed by this person announcing she has a disease which affects millions?
No i don't think private insurence companies pay for expensive stuff like chemo. Might do some tests like ct scans etc.Not sure you get private oncology wards. I doubt her actual treatment will differ from anyone else in the uk.
Exactly, they choose to lie, not withhold information, actively lie and they got caught. This is all their own doing.I'm not sure who should be apologising or why, to be honest. Good luck to the woman: we've all got experience of friends and relatives who have had cancer, and some of us will have personally had it or have it. It's not funny, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Hope she gets the all clear soon.
However, the palace press office did make a huge hash of this. It was reported early on that it wasn't cancer. There was no need for that.
They could have said nothing specific at all, including that there was even an "abdominal procedure". Just that she was taking time off for health reasons and kept that message on repeat. But they didn't.
Equally, had they said nothing at all I bet nobody would have noticed. Who knows which Royal turns up at things from day to day between state openings of Parliament? I certainly don't.
So just as it's a bit rich for the press to be condemning "out of control media speculation" today, so also is it a bit disingenuous for the Palace to be claiming they had no hand in fuelling the frenzy. Of course they did.
TBF (but why should I) they didn't know it was cancer at the time she was scheduled for the op, they discovered it incidentally (as with HM), and then she wanted to choose the right time to tell the children before going public.
I mean, current situation aside, that arguably is something it's generally better to avoid...making jokes about a situation which we knew nothing about.
I also miss MoiraMight be a good moment to have one last go at restoring the Stuarts.
Let the urban civil war commence!
The buns are loaded, the f-bombs on standby.i think it's more likely to be uncivil...
