FA Cup 2020/21

belboid

Exasperated, not angry.
Seeing as we don't have a thread already, and while we are still in it.....

Who are you hoping for in the draw? One of the 14 (?) non-league club left, or one of the (0) big clubs?

Draw to be made straight after The Archers, helpfully.

1 Newport County
2 Havant & Waterlooville
3 Mansfield Town
4 Crewe Alexandra
5 Peterborough United
6 Exeter City
7 Bradford City
8 Bristol Rovers
9 Stockport County
10 Darlington
11 Barnet
12 Chorley
13 Tranmere Rovers
14 Oxford City or Northampton Town
15 Morecambe
16 Yeovil Town
17 Crawley Town
18 Blackpool
19 Cheltenham Town
20 Stevenage
21 Harrogate Town
22 Gillingham
23 Plymouth Argyle
24 Carlisle United
25 Doncaster Rovers
26 Salford City
27 Solihull Moors
28 Hull City
29 Marine
30 Barrow or AFC Wimbledon
31 Dagenham & Redbridge
32 Shrewsbury Town
33 Brackley Town
34 Milton Keynes Dons
35 Oldham Athletic
36 Boreham Wood
37 Portsmouth
38 King's Lynn Town
39 Lincoln City
40 Canvey Island

Four of them in the end will make it through, with Canvey or Boreham Wood joining Marine, Chorley and Stockport County. Plenty of scope for north-west derbies for them.

Fifteen minutes till the beginning of a ridiculously drawn out (sorry) process.

Marine v Spurs, not a bad draw. And they can have fans in and are managed by Neil Young. Should be decent. Not bad for Chorley v Derby & Stockport v West Ham. Away to Barnsley is a bit shit for us.

Reading have Luton Town in a cup game for the second time this season. I'm going to make a rash guess and say we'll send the reserves out again.

Good to see so many non-league teams get decent ties. Shame they won't be the big gates you'd normally expect. Let's hope the right games get picked for telly.

I suspect Marine-Spurs will get shown, and we know it's in the BBC charter that Man Utd-Watford will be on. I'm not sure what leaps out at me as one I definitely want to watch. Maybe QPR-Fulham as a local derby.
Villa-Liverpool over those two also rans, shorely? Maybe Stoke-Leicester for the third.

There’s a great stat about Man Utd getting TV coverage in the FA Cup , it’s mandatory.

If crowds we're back to normal this would not be played at Marine, it would be neutral or at Tottenham. It's great to see the lower teams hosting the bigger ones. Can you imagine the prima donnas playing there. They will surely hate it ;) :D

Did us a lot of good last year, when the poor fucks had to come and play on our chewed up mudbath. The mancs disliked it so much we kept the core down to 6-0. Which was, at least, better than we did against Spurs.

Ideally I'd want no all-Prem ties shown.

I always remember when Arsenal, the then champions, went to Wrexham in 1992. Wrexham had finished 92nd in the League the previous season, and I think only avoided relegation because Aldershot went into administration.

Plus Ronnie Radford.

I believe we are looking forward to live coverage from Crawley & Marine on Saturday (2 separate matches) on BBC. Looking forward to it.

Both those matches are on Sunday.

I'll start with QPR-Fulham on the iplayer on Saturday, followed by Arsenal-Newcastle on BBC1.

Thinking about this QPR v Fulham might not happen. Fulham have had their last 2 games postponed because of C19.

I'll swap to Stevenage-Swansea if that's the case.

Is The FA Player free to use, and does it require any kind of sign up? If yes and no respectively, I may do Wycombe-Preston instead.

It is and you do. Although it won’t let me log into the app with the password it just agreed I had.

Rather than finishing all matches with penalties what do people think about settling them with a golden goal? I saw it used in the States a while back. Far more exciting and a team thing rather than the burden of a player missing or having a kick saved.

The FA Player is news to me; Will explore later - The FA Player: Watch live matches, highlights & features for free
It's great to see a few lives matches being shown How to follow FA Cup third round on the BBC
I heard on the radio that Marine had given up their "dressing room" to Spurs. It is the bar area of their function suite :D

I have just watched all 120+ minutes of the West London Derby QPR v. Fulham. Was it the most underwhelming match I've ever seen. Very well done to Bobby for finally breaking the deadlock
