Sorry, another to add to the ranks of ex-avid viewer who hasn't seen it for about four years now. I saw it for few minutes during the ad break on the Simpsons on Sky One and I hadn't a clue who any of the people were.

(Corrie rules though!)

Writing wise it's as realistic as an episode of Dr Who. Except even the Tardis has never materalised in a dimension so removed from our own as the average day to day workings of Albert Square.

I didn't vote because there is no 'I think it's rubbish but I never miss and episode if I can help it' option.
Only and hour and 18 minutes to the next episode.

It would be nice to hear some comments from the people who don't like soap operas at all.
Wolfie is in bed ill at the moment or I'm sure he would comment.

He hates all soaps and never watches them and yet still seems to know all the plot lines and the names of the characters

Eastenders is awful at the minute. About half the cast have left and now there's a flock of nonentities in the square.

Dreadful.

Yes they seem to have suddenly brought in all these really weedy stereotypes - Yorkshiremen wittering on about whippets (practically) and Cypriot restaurant owners who make My Big Fat GreekWedding seem subtle and restrained.

And we are supposed to care about them? Obviously I am addicted to it yet I hate it

I particularly despise Honey but I suppose she will die in childbirth or trip over a toy.

My daughter and I watch the replays from 3 years ago and we amuse ourselves by counting how many of the then characters have been polished off :D

My money's on her dying in childbirth. I can sort of sympathise with the storyliners, they have lost half of their best cast members overnight... but it's still just...........dire.

I'm the same. I never watch them, any of them, but I'll flick through the soap pages of the TV guide and it tells you everything that happens in 5 minutes. Which save about 10/15 hours per week of my life.

Yes and poor old Billy will be heartbroken :D

until he finds little Mo's shoulder again for 5 minutes.

i must say that the people who say Eastenders was so much better in the mid to late 80s are wearing seriously rose-tinted spectacles. If you watch the repeats of the old ones on UK Gold you will find that it was simply not much better back then. The acting was, if anything, even worse...

yeh, its crap. but it's one of those comfortable programmes often on as we have our tea.

imo the only real characters left are the fabulous stacy slater and the wonderful dot & jim.

Apparently, 'Everybody's Talking About It.'
Can they be done under the trades description act?

but i like one character in it. the one who had a baby quite early i think she is a good and somehow honest tv soap actress.

but really too much boring drama and too much boring sad for my liking.

Nothing makes me happier* than when they bring ex eastenders back on to the show. I loooove it. Yes, even Dirty Den. If Michelle and Lofty came back I might just expire.

*May be slight exaggeration

I put 'i hate it' because I do. I used to watch it a few years ago, but managed to jump off the trend wagon before it plummeteed into shite acting, shiter scripts, and more shite that you could wave a stick at in a half hour slot. I lead a more fulfilling existence now :p

Can't watch Honey's old man (Nicky Henson) without thinking of that early '70s vampire biker flick, Psycomania. :D
