Donald Trump, the road that might not lead to the White House!

It really doesn't matter what you personally read into it. You're not the sum total of people who will read this, neither are you (presumably) the sum total of rape victims who deal with the consequences of sloppily-applied language.
I don't claim to be. I was asked and I answered for myself no-one else.
The words are clear in the article "[she]plans to defend herself in court", as asked by gosub what does she have to defend herself against, nothing in my view as stated above.

Most people will read "defend herself" as meaning represent herself through any legal proceedings.

It's still clearly wrong, clearly deliberate and clear drip-feeding proliferation of a nasty undercurrent of what still forms popular sub-conscious opinion.

Leads to comments of "I fully support victims of abuse and assault, but they must have done something to get themselves into that situation, yeah?"

Whilst I personally believe that all children (and she was aged 13 at the time so clearly a child) should be believed when making allegations of abuse, it is also being reported in the press that lawyers and journalists have been unable to find the person who has made these allegations, while the address is real there is no evidence that someone of that name ever lived there, also that the telephone number listed on the case file belongs to someone else.

So we will have to wait and see if this person exists and the case goes forward. In many states in the USA anyone can file a lawsuit and does not have to produce identification at the time of filing.

Could go either way, certainly one to watch. You'd want to dead end the media shitstorm ahead of the case if was true (both sides), but if its fake a dirty trick of that level can only backfire- but would have to be Republican internal dirty tricks as will out before the Presidential race proper

As with most things time will tell, but the fact that this, if true, is a massive story that hasn't been picked up by the US press sets alarm-bells ringing for me.

I'm not sure why it would have to be a republican dirty trick, in my view many Americans would think, there is no smoke without fire, so it could have caused him some harm.

True of false it doesn't detracted from the tabloid wording that you and others found offensive.

It is hard to see who else it could be - they do have form for coming up with anonymous attacks like that (if it is one), and its hard to see why Clinton would come up with a line of attack that associated him with Epstein, given her and Bill's much closer links to him.

Some random anit-trump person? I can't see any benefit for it to have come from Trump as he has faced allegations like this in the past, I can't see it coming for either party to be honest.

I understand about dirty tricks but if it came from a "political faction" I'd expect it to have gained more traction in the US press, its one of those wait and see things I guess.

edit to add, it seems to have come from someone with a good legal understanding as apparently the filings have been done correctly and with legal expertise according to reports from people who have read them, they will be online somewhere I think.

iirc The Epstein stuff that came out was all on the east coast. California? -just before their primary. Anyway will wait and see.

eta "Ms. Johnson claims that she begged Trump to use a condom, which he did not. When she expressed fear after the rape that he’d impregnated her, she said he angrily threw $100 bills at her and told her to “get a f***ing abortion.” That's not just odious thats Republican dog whistle odious

Hilary Clinton is just George Bush in drag , much like Michael Parenti once pointed out Tony Blair was just Bill Clinton in drag .

She reminds me of Norman Bates' mad mum in the attic . That crowd known as " the crazies " by the CIA ..Kagan, Nuland..the whole PNAC fuckwittery. They're her closest mates . She actually believes that unhinged shit . She wants to get into office to actually do that stuff. She's as predatory as a velociraptor, with the personality to match .

Bush struck me as a Norman Bates type character, who sort of inherited the white house from his family and had to run it. Didn't start out as a terrible nasty piece of work but then he fell under the spell of all these crazy voices telling him to do all this evil stuff . But Hilary Clinton is actually the mad old psycho in the attic who is the voice . She's pure evil . If she gets in the world is fucked . Brink of war within months .

And indeed the numerous women who've accused the other half of the Clinton partnership with rape and assault over the decades. And Hilary of being the " cleaner " afterwards . Going after the alleged victims . And then there was that child rape case she was recorded cackling about . Definitely not an issue they'd want to see surfacing . A quick google of "Bill and Hilary Clinton rape " and you'd be there all night .

2 predatory , psychopathic velociraptor bastards . Shielded by liberal apologists out of pure knee jerk partisanship .

Literally using the mad woman in the attic trope.

You don't even try to cover up your misogyny do you, you nasty piece of shit.

It's quite possible to criticise and critique Clinton without that shit. Except you want to do that, don't you? Because you're a sexist cunt.

Fuck you with the power of a thousand massive supernovae, you irrelevant wanker.

This guy has got to be committing political suicide. If he could follow through on his rhetoric, the result could be a trade war & a worldwide depression. Business will use all it's power to stop him.

Trump says China is 'raping' America over trade deficit

Or, much more likely, renegotiation rather than Trumpageddon .

This articles well worth a read not only as regards what Trump is actually up to, which is quite clever in some ways, but how counterproductive the liberal elitist bluster and sniggering at his antics has actually been .

Donald Trump Has a Coherent, Realist Foreign Policy

I'm not getting this one . The rape allegations ...or " bimbo eruptions " as velociraptor 2 calls them...conspiraloonery you reckon ? Hope I'm misinterpreting and I apologise if that's the case . But it's how it looks .
I just thought it captured BC's inner creepiness. It probably is intended to spoof the conspiraloons, but that was not my intention.

Oh dear. Trump thinks "We (the US) has a lot of power with China".

He wishes.

China holds 7.5% of US debt and have used threats to call it in numerous times to get their way and America has conceded.

Chinese courts have been more than happy to rule in favour of Chinese companies over American companies in IP disputes etc.

China does not fear the US.

That has got to be the weakest defense of a foreign policy ever. The author acknowledges all the problems with his policy and then simply criticizes his critics.

He is not wrong, though - as loads of banks found out during the last crash, if you own a load of bad debt that you cannot collect it is your problem, not the debtors.

No she doesn't . She points out he makes these blustering populist statements that generate both headlines and votes. As well as outrage from the establishment, which gets him more votes . And then down the line he quietly says something different, and a lot more sensible . Which barely gets noticed . Every time he leaves himself an out . Something she describes as Machievellian .

You seem to be saying that the foreign policy of the US elite and it's media accepted unassailable " truths " are a common sense approach . As opposed to an approach largely garnered by Saudis and other interests stuffing wads of bills in politicians and lobbyist pockets . Like it or not it's only Sanders and Trump who are publicly challenging that entire systems way of doing business and those vested interests . The writer puts it to those critics the challenge is for them to come out and explain their positions and practices to the American people as opposed to either fulminating or guffawing . Something they've failed to even try much less do . Clinton is without doubt the personification of the establishment, elitist hierarchy who's up to her neck among all of that . And many people on both the left and right are utterly sick of that and everything she stands for .

Eta

Comparing his take on US foreign policy to the accepted wisdom of both the Democrat and republican elites, and almost the entire US media for that matter . They're fucking insane and their trail of destruction speaks for itself . The authors telling them this is what they need to come up with a better argument against . And the fact is they can't . Because its basic common sense .

Exactly. If the US economy goes down the shitter the Chinese are left holding debt they can't collect ...essentially nothing..and millions of broke Americans...and others...who can't afford to buy their stuff . It's a double edged sword and trump knows it . A form of MAD in a way . It's in Chinese as well as American interests to ensure US economic stability . Therefore negotiations are the most likely outcome . Trumps a businessman, so are the Chinese . Such people cut deals .

Here's Bill with his good friends George H.W. Bush and George Wallace:

"Compliments pass when the quality meet"

They're the same elite regardless of which elitist faction they head up . One good thing abouth this election is no matter what happens, and no matter how awful some of Trumps shite has been there's been a real spotlight shone on that by both Sanders and Trump . And a genuine political groundswell against it from a number of corners . It doesn't mean it'll end well but at least it's being highlighted and challenged . There's an actual debate on it at long last .

After he was heckled by a kid yesterday, Ted Cruz started bragging that his daughters, who are 5 and 7 years old, get spanked when they're out of line. The rise of Donald Trump is a horrifying thing to witness, but the silver lining is that we also get to watch as Cruz's lifelong ambition is slowly crushed.
