Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

Rudy has had some class moments. The Four Seasons Landscaping fiasco, his hair dye running down his face as he sweated profusely during a press conference, getting indicted on the same RICO charges he used to bust the NY mob and now, ranting in front of a banner reading ‘clown car coup’. Just such a classy, dignified guy:

Tougher for the US than the question of Trump himself is this: what to do about the fact that millions of citizens are in violent agreement with his rhetoric? So much so that they are willing to fight and be jailed for it while deifying the man himself. This is maybe 50 million people and they’re not going to suddenly change their politics just because Trump gets defeated or jailed. There needs to be a long term strategy that engages with, understands and somehow accommodates the needs and beliefs of this group. If not, Trump will only be the start.
I've tried to think how to change this and can't help coming to just one answer, shoot them one by one and claim they were threatening you...that's legal over there isnt it?

( Sorry forgot, only works against black people....oh well here comes another Trump innings)

50 million in violent agreement sounds on the high side, that's more than two-thirds of the people who voted for him in 2020 - when he urged supporters to come to DC to "Stop the Steal" on Jan. 6, 2021, maybe 100,000 showed up from across the country, a fraction of them walked to the Capitol. Maybe 2,000 of those entered the building and a lot of the most violent rioters are now in jail.

At the recent indictment, the pro-Trump crowds have been small and peaceful - there might be a lot of people engaging in violent rhetoric and possibly a larger number than usual of losers joining militias and parading around the woods, but I don't think there's that many people still willing to go to jail for Trump.

in some states (FL) but not all. self-defense is supposed to be "proportionate": you can't shoot a guy who you know has no gun. booby-traps e.g. are illegal.

well, the majority of us neither own one nor love in a household with one. but you mean the other party maybe has a concealed gun. so let's say you're on your property and a creepy one shows up. you take your gun and stand there and even if you say "shoo" and s/he doesn't, you still can't shoot. but, practically, you've got the gun in your hand so you have the drop and will be ready of s/he reaches.

and 6.ft 3. Impressively he's grown an inch and lost 25 pounds since March.

Or he just lied. Which wouldn't be like hi.... no wait...
