Trump did their bidding while in power. He stacked the Supreme Court and federal courts with Federalist Society hand-picked judges and got Roe overturned. Now they've used him for what they need they're kicking him to the curb. They are absolutely despicable pricks. I saw the FS's John Yoo railing against Trump the other day. This is the guy who wrote the infamous 'torture memos' in the G W Bush era, legally greenlighting the 'enhanced interrogation' of inmates at Guantanamo Bay. But still, just how brutally they've thrown Trump under the bus is absolutely hilarious. No honour amongst thieves. I wonder how many of Trump's co-defendants will get flipped in his RICO and conspiracy indictments!
The troosers fella was still a big cheese back then aye?Trump wasn't THE Donald in the 90s
Back then he had a next door neighbour in Palm Beach (dead now) also called Donald , very much his time. The troosers fella was still a big cheese back then aye?
Duck?Trump wasn't THE Donald in the 90s
Too late, it hit me.Duck?
Sincere apologies.Too late, it hit me.
All the cranks go on about Soros and the ‘global elite’, when genuine conspiracies stripping them of their rights are there in plain sight. It’s almost like the crank shit is a deliberate diversion. As a student, they began grooming Amy Coney Barrett for the Supreme Court. They wanted a woman to be the one who gave the last vote needed to overturn Roe. They have worked toward removing search and seizure rules for the police, Miranda warnings, etc. They've racked up victories not only on Roe, but also Affirmative Action and corporate regulation. As far as I'm concerned, they're a criminal conspiracy to deprive everyone but their corporate donors of basic rights. They either need to be dissolved or at least countered in a major way.
A poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that 53% of people say they would definitely not support Trump in the general election, compared to 43% who say the same of President Joe Biden. A Fox News poll has Trump with a lower favorability than Biden among important swing groups, including independents, suburban voters (and especially suburban women), and undecided voters.
On top of it all, an ABC News/Ipsos poll found that 50% of people think Trump should suspend his campaign in light of the indictments in Georgia, which people think are more serious than those in New York City and Florida.
So what is the plan to beat Biden, the unpopular old man that people don’t want to see win and yet still picked over Trump in 2020 and still like more than Trump today?
It’s not just about what percentage supports each candidate, but about how motivated those supporters are to turn up and vote. Minority opinions can win, see Brexit as an example close to home. Also it’s not just about the popular vote with the US elections.Looks hopeful?
Polling roundup: Trump has no realistic path to win a general election - Washington Examiner
While former President Donald Trump and his team try to build up his air of invincibility in the GOP presidential primary, the fact remains that he would be facing a near-certain loss in the general election.A poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that 53%...www.washingtonexaminer.com
Looks hopeful?
For example what Dogsauce said, I was just being hopeful I've no idea really.
ah ok - no I don't think the UK can talk about dumm muricans after having Johnson and Truss in powerfair enough, i'm hypersensitized to even implicated "obv trump is gonna win muricans are dumm" talk.
anyway go to your bookie (everybody in the UK has a bookie, right?) and put UK10 on biden, if he loses i'll comp you.

Most polling supported remain around the time of the vote, in fact for most time before and after. What happened was the leave campaign was able to motivate people to turn out. Voting for change is exciting. Voting remain was just voting for the status quo, for many would have felt like voting for their gas and electric supplier or some other faceless technocracy like that. There was complacency and no passion until after the result. Trump’s victory (and potential future victory) was likely propelled by the same circumstance. Difficult to be enthusiastic for Clinton or Biden.I never got the impression that wanting to leave the EU was a minority opinion.
The court stuff allows him to play the martyr, point at his ‘persecution’ as evidence that ‘they’ don’t want him to win, with your help he can fight back etc. If anything it might make it more likely.Does anyone still seriously peddle the line that this cunt will win in 2024?
Up until these serious indictments started landing that could have been plausible.
Now I really can't see how.
Polling suggests it'll be closer than you think, though a lot of it obv depends on a relatively limited number of swing areas.I just can't see how Trump wins next year.
did you check the date on that article?I can imagine that massed ranks of heavily armed trumpists stood outside polling stations could make a fair difference to turnout, along with far-right polling station managers and supervisors.

Wouldn't have to be done everywhere, just the swing areas.Oct 13 (Reuters) - Inside the El Paso County clerk's office in Colorado, where officials had gathered in July to recount votes in a Republican nominating contest for this year's midterms, dozens of angry election watchers pounded on the windows, at times yelling at workers and recording them with cell phones.
In the hallway a group prayed for "evil to descend" on the "election team," said the county's Republican clerk Chuck Broerman. "It's astonishing to me to hear something like that." The election watchers had showed up to observe a five-day recount of votes for four Republican candidates who claimed the primary was fraudulent in a contest where they faced other Republicans.
