have we had this?

I'm wondering which version his supporters who saw him say it will believe. Favourite is the second or possibly both at once (Schrodinger's prison).

IME, Trump supporters are perfectly capable of believing/denying multiple conflicting versions of whatever Trump said with absolutely no apparent shame or consistency whatsoever.

Pretty much everyone is capable of this with regard to their own sacred cows.

Someone just told me that Trump had opened the largest nature reserve in 30 years? Not that it would change my opinion of him at all but is there any truth to this? I'm guessing this is nonsense but where does it come from?

I read this astute quote from Salena Zito yesterday:
“the press takes him literally, but not seriously; his supporters take him seriously, but not literally”.
It was mentioned in this article:

That must be crossed wires as one of the last acts of his presidency was to authorise exploitation of oil reserves in Alaska’s Tongass National Forest, which i think is the largest protected forest, if not the largest reserve.

She also claimed he'd introduced more protections for horses or something? I doubt this is true though

hmm well she most know more that horse charity's in the USA

I did find this but I doubt Trump had much to do with the actual substance of the legislation tbh and there's loads more information on him trying to cull horses

How did that whole Hitler/Reich thing work out in the end, I seem to have forgotten?

this is the technique, just throw something out and get people occupied with it becuase the focus must be moced away from the conviction.
anyway, nice that his supporters want him to be seen as a tree hugger, who are the real environmentalists, eh?

It was because I was complaining about right wingers and their opposition to animal rights (horse racing tories for eg) and she said she didn't see it as left vs right and gave trump's alleged environmental protection as an example? Anyway everything else I heard about Trump it said the exact opposite so I just wanted to know where she could possibly have got this from. :(

Unfortunately your friend is half right - the left are mostly abysmal on animal rights, although the right are still worse.
