Donald Trump - MAGAtwat news and discussion

Wishful thinking in part maybe but hopefully the wheels are coming off cognitive-wise:

Reasonable positions that get taken to extremes which is the speciality of the far left. Extreme affirmative action; bonkers gender politics that see academics and perfectly reasonable people losing their careers when challenged; de-banking people whose political opinions are deemed "incorrect", etc etc
Aww, won't someone think of the poor fashie academic grifters and their precious careers? 😂

I wouldn't worry about them. Anyone who claims to have been silenced or cancelled has hit the jackpot and definitely gets to have their say - all over the fucking media. Especially if it serves right wing politics.

Trump’s fans are without a doubt the thickest, most brainwashed morons on the planet:

“To his fans, Trump is the saviour of democracy”

It's not that long since the UK got upset that a Lettuce wasn't in charge.

Trump certainly has a messiah complex, and seems to have got more people to unquestionably believing his bullshit than anyone I can think of in my lifetime. It seems akin to Christianity and Islam.

people still don’t understand Trump has the getting up the nose of nice sensible liberals thing going for him. I get it, it’s comforting to write them all off as thickos. I wouldn’t necessarily disagree. But no one is carrying those people, showing them something better. Brexit one because of the same sentiment over here. This has been said before 1 million times. And around we go again.

hmm for once i say aligning the current crop of gobshite follow trump and comparing them to brexit supports is a little harsh

no one who voted for brexit wanted boris to be a dictator or remove women fertility rights because of the imaginary sky friend
it got pass just it a liberal thing .. his supports have dropped the curtain and it fucking religious nutcases and full blown fash voting for this prick

Trump’s support base is wider than fundamentalists and fascist though. And it’s them that will win it for him. If that comes to pass.

hmm we shall see we had one caucus, in a deeply religious state were the sung it for him

have not seen what less crazy republicans think of the fella yet

not like last time were he might not be an unhidge fella once in power
he is down right admitting it

Well at this rate he's going to have to be removed from office due to dementia by the sounds of things. Some previous rants could maybe be attributed to Trump's.... idiosyncrasies, but honestly here - the repetition, the flattened affect, this is not a man whose brain is functioning correctly. But I'm not sure what it would take for it to be recognised at this point, is he just going to start yelling swearwords and everyone and shitting himself on the podium before they'll admit it?

At least that makes some kind of sense, unlike his rambles about whales (or was it Wales?) or whatever.

But he pitches it at a very particular level. Those outraged by the fort renaming themselves probably mostly don't know the names of more than one or two. So he names one then rambles about This and That, and that's exactly the level of knowledge of the people he's pitching at. He's not trying to educate, after all. He's in the business of pressing buttons. Last thing he wants is for people to learn something from his speeches - it all falls apart if they do that.

I don't see this really as any different from Boris Johnson during the Brexit referendum talking about the EU money being spent on 'god knows what'. No, Boris, you surely know that you could find out in really quite excruciating detail where the money goes with a quick google. He may or may not know that, but it's irrelevant – he is banking on his intended audience not knowing that or at least not bothering to actually do it. He's pressed the button while maintaining the level of ignorance required for that particular button to be effective.
