Do you have a clan and do you identify with its motto?

A family rather than a clan. Motto is 'Labora', in rough translation, you must work. Something I have done for the last 43 years.

Clan Gunn through my mum apparently, which had a Viking progenitor and is associated with Caithness, Sutherland and Orkney. Motto is 'Aut Pax Aut Bellum' which means 'either peace or war' and the badge is a raised sword in a clenched fist.

Clan Gunn also, through my paternal grandmother, who was a Henderson, her mother was a McGregor from Balquiddher, off Rob Roy's line.

Being an ex biker, I can relate to people tattooing the names of their favourite motorbikes like "Harley Davidson" on their bodies.

I thought this was only done by bikers, but on Graham Norton last Friday there was a man who had the signatures of all the Doctor Who's on his arm and there and then (on the show) he gathered a couple more signatures to get tattooed. Then there was a girl who had had Robbie Williams's sig tattooed on her buttock after he signed it during a gig.

Is there nothing people won't have tattooed?

:)

The Scots sides of the family come from the MacNeils - 'Conquer or die' - and the Stuarts / Stewarts - allegedly the royal side, though the wrong side of the bedsheets.
