I could see snow on the top of the Cairngorms earlier this week.Hope it's still good in a week and a half's time when I get to the Cairngorms!
Don't mind that. Just want some dry weather from time to time.I could see snow on the top of the Cairngorms earlier this week.

positively balmy today.Weather has been good this month.
I've seen people in shorts in Inverness in January. Walking boots and a bubble jacket. She must have been 60 at least. She gave me a light in the pissing down rain because I'd soaked mine.I appear to be the only person in Inverness wearing shorts
Ah just get in there! We used to swim in it in Nairn every year. Give it 5 mins after the initial shock to get used to it and it's fine. We would always be burnt to a crisp as well, I think maybe the suncream wasn't waterproof back then? Or we just had none on.I made the mistake of taking of a layer of clothing and not wearing my hat at the weekend. I was freezing cold watching the children play in the sea. (I am a bit like a tender plant, I need to harden off before taking of any layers yet whereas the Scottish children, my grandchildren included think that any glimpse of the sun is an indication that its time to get out the paddling pool or go in the sea, the North Sea mind!)
Is that Stac Pollaidh in the background? We used to go up that way nearly every year when I was a kid.Never neen up here before. Only been here an hour and want to stay. Badluarach

Have just sent that to my wife. Midges bloody LOVE her.So that's a firm no from me.
Would you volunteer for eight hours of midge bites?
A firm that makes insect repellent is seeking candidates to find out how effective their product is.www.bbc.co.uk
They love me too. And not just midges -- any bloody fly-y bitey insect. (I'll count Madame Voley out too, yeah?)Have just sent that to my wife. Midges bloody LOVE her.
Yep. Plus she reacts really badly to the bites. A horsefly bite once made her whole upper arm swell up.They love me too. And not just midges -- any bloody fly-y bitey insect. (I'll count Madame Voley out too, yeah?)

No. Over 100 miles from Inverness to Thurso which is pretty much the northern tip.Huge distance. I think Inverness is the most northern tip of mainland UK
