I bought a lovely aran style jumper, except it's much thinner wool and lacey. Toasty without being stifling.

I'm always a bit dubious about vintage arans because I'm never sure they're really vintage and they're often acrylic.

This one I think is wool, from having done a burn test, and is clearly hand-knitted.

I've decided not to buy anything else until I've dropped a dress size in weight! It will hurt, but it has to be done. I just hope I lose weight before I'm walking about in just rags!

This from Monsoon for my Dad's funeral. I'm not a great one for dressing up, but I feel the occasion warrants it and he would have appreciated it. It's actually a strapless dress with a kind of lace crop top which camouflages the belly quite well.
Very sorry for your loss (((Boudicca))), I've only just seen this. Very suitable - smart and sombre enough but not so plain that it wouldn't be you. I'm sure your Dad would approve.

Having posted my new dress 'as worn by a waif' further up the thread, I'm thinking of starting a website where you post the sales picture of the dress and then what it ACTUALLY looks like on a size 20 real human being.
AFAIK Simply Be and the associated catalogues use size 16 models for some clothes, but even so, they're taller than average (models are often over 5'8"), so the proportions are still going to look different. BTW if you start that thread/page/site, I suspect you'll find a lot of shorter women posting.
