Desert Island Dinners

Mation

real life adventure worth more than pieces of gold
Me and kittyP have been playing DID tonight and we've had some tough choices to make, I can tell you.

For the rest of your life, on this island, you have:

  • 2 herbs
  • 2 spices
  • salt and pepper as equivalent to the complete works of Shakespeare
  • garlic as the Bible (WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT  )

We didn't consider drinks, but assume fresh water, the occasional coconut that leaks delicious liquid but has inaccessible flesh, and a treasure trove of fermented plums every half decade or so.

What will you choose?

Beetroot! Raspberries! There was no talk of these!

But on reflection... this is hard. You might need fattier meat with those staples, though?

Ohhh can I swap my rice for wraps?!
Not sure, popty - rice was a good choice. Flexible as in versatile as in goes with loads of dishes. Wraps - tasty but can they be mixed in when mixing in is required?

Bit they don't require cutler or plates. Anything can go inside them too.

Staples:

Durum wheat
Grapes (attached to vines if possible)
Jersey Royal Potatoes
Brussel sprouts
Borlotti beans

Herbs:

Parsley
Basil

Spices:

Chillis
Za'atar

Luxury

Very mature Canadian cheddar

Considering swapping my green beans for either broad beans or broccoli as both can be used in more than one way. Broad beans also make a houmous type of substance, and broccoli stalks can be made into completely different things to broccoli ends.
