Had a quick go at knitting the cat this morning. I Furminated him, and there was so much fluff on the floor, it seemed a shame to waste it.
Didn't have enough to spin properly on my drop spindle, so just twisted it a bit by hand. It's a very long, soft fibre, and worked quite well. Nice to knit with. I might collect a load over time, and have a proper go.

I'm not sure, tbh. It would take a dedicated person to wash, card, spin and knit it, and I don't know how it would behave. I would think with a dog it would have to be undercoat/midcoat, if OES have that kind of coat. Sheep fleeces in the UK go for nowt these days as we don't have a great wool industry here, so I don't think it would be a great money-making opportunity for you, unfortunately. I will ask in crafty circles.Could you sell fur?
What is it made out of?
I'm thinking of getting a kiln so I can fire tiles, if I can find one cheap enough.
you could buy a shitload of fimo for a hundred quid i've never come across a diy kiln hack, but there has to be one
I emailed one yesterday I'll see which works out best. I'm looking to make colourful tessellated tiles. Probably buy in some biscuit ones at first to get the glazes right.any local studios where you could hire kiln time?
I have become slightly addicted to sewing now, and in particular buying vintage patterns off Etsy This is your fault wayward bob
Yes, that's the exact issue I'm having. I'm trying to adapt my standard shirt dress pattern, which has a waist dart and open-necked collar (ie part of the bodice folds down). This is the strangely shaped thing I have created so far. The tucks have to run into the neckline, hence the weird angles, and also I seem to have got one of them into the corner of the shoulder seam. Not convinced really.i think the only issue would be if you have darts or other shaping to work around.
Good idea, but I think there comes a point when you may as well just make a different pattern (eg 1044).1044 gets around the neckline issue with a flat yoke at the top - might that be an option?
Oh go on.
45 is usually a good bet but 44 or 46 will do.didn't have anything particular in mind but always happy to windowshop on other people's behalf what bust size?
