Coronavirus beards

My Mum wants a pic of my beard, so might stick it up on here.
Not sure what to do with it at this point (last shaved some weeks into lockdown).

Mine's getting to that one-week-since-last-done-to-#1 scratchy stage. And the hair's probably due a quick whiz over with the shears, too.

Mine was really soft, was quite surprised I got through it with blade grade quite easily.

Mrs Numbers stopped fancying me :(
Mine was like I had stapled brillo pads to my face - took ages to hack it all off.

If Mrs Numbers has gone off you that's all the more reason for the face merkin. Get some sticky-backed plastic and attach the shearings on that. Could combine it to have a face mask n' beard combo, neatly attached with string behind your ears.

Or just get some bent wire from the ears to the beard, and pretend it's removable.

Some nice beards on here. Im on the other end of the spectrum, I shaved my beard off in January so that I could wear a mask. Hoping to grow it back again soon as I dont feel like myself without it.20200727_175432 (2).jpg
Left side is January, right side is July. Tried to replicate the pic, but its hot wearing a down jacket in July!

Is mask-wearing better with or without a beard? I mean a proper beard, rather than, say, my piss-poor effort.

I was about to post a thread about this and realised it must have come up before... I'm just about to shave my beard off completely at exactly the point in the year where I get the urge to grow it. The incompatibility of masks with beards past a certain length is annoying. The reusable masks fit badly*, it tickles with a surgical mask but a K95 (what I wear on trains when I can) just won't seal on your face with a longish beard and if I understand correctly this makes them a bit pointless.

*Though I struggle with glasses fogging which makes me tend not to use these. Any suggestions of reusable masks that have a mouldable nose piece to solve this problem!?

That's pretty much exactly how I like to keep my beard, maybe a bit longer in winter. It's been 18 months since I kept it at that length and I'm really starting to miss it! Though the fact I still don't feel comfortable going to a barbers yet lack the manual dexterity to keep it neat at the length is also a factor :(
