Consequences of selling your soul

red rose

Fee-Ai-Esh-See-Oh
I am an atheist (a skint atheist) and whilst musing over whether I have anything worth selling I had the idea of selling my soul * Its not like I need it (or even believe it exists) so if someone else wants it why not let them have it?

Now I'm not very theologically au-fait, so I'm hoping that maybe people who are more well read religion-wise could tell me what to expect if I'm wrong about the atheism thing. Can I expect any side effects? What should I expect if someone of occult persuasion gets hold of my soul?

I should possibly have considered this before I started accepting bids :D

*I know its been done before, I hardly think I'm being original.

Not a great deal, as atheist souls command a low price. People tend to buy them for a quid a gross, something less than a penny a soul.

Even if souls do exist, the worst consequence you're likely to suffer from losing it is usurping James Blunt's musical niche.

Shouldn't imagine you'd get too much for it though.

Sell it. If it exists you become excellent at the guitar. If it doesn't, well you're a bit richer than you were. Win-win from what I can see.

A soul, what is a soul, you can't see it, feel it, touch it.

Why not offer your soul to Satan in return for vast material riches and Worldly success? :)

I tried arguing that and they said if I relist I'll probably get a ban.

I reckon my soul is worth more than a seven day listing anyway.

How would they know whether it had been delivered or not? (Theological pun?)

Odd, I've seen it done with no trouble before.

The standard way of doing it is to sell a certificate or contract saying that the buyer owns your soul.

I'd hold out until the dollar settles.
  1. Then you could put it on the SOUL-DAQ (the NASDAQ for souls) and trade under your own name (RRX). If you are not familiar with the stock exchange then get a broker to do it for you but he'd charge a hefty fee.
  2. If bricks and mortar are your thing then you could **lease** it. If you **really** believe in all that stuff about the soul being eternal you could go for a lease of say, ooh, 666 years. There are a number of estate agents and property brokers that are into this sort of thing but expect a fee. Not sure how development on souls go put you could go for an **extension** immediately and rent the extra space.
  3. Lawyers are always into souls.... but they don't have any.

I sold my sould to a freind of mine when we were both sixteen.

Every now and again I wonder what he might be doing with it.
