Burger Thread. Yes!

The burger looks good wtfftw, if a little messy.
The chips, on the other hand, look superb

We've got burgers for tea tonight.
Tesco finest steak burgers with smoked garlic to be precise.
Seeded burger buns, plastic cheese (a special request from the boy) and perhaps some finely sliced shallot.

So I finally made it to Ricks burger joint in Dublin's Dame Street

The burger was divine!!! The patty was succulent, juicy, TOP NOTCH - one of the best i have EVER had. The sesame seed bun was just regular and cheapish (it just about stayed together), and filled with mayo, grated cheese, iceberg lettuce, diced onions, beef tomato, pickle and ketchup. So while the bun and the dressings were pretty standard, they were ABSOLUTELY saved by the meat which was just perfect. The chips on the side were very disappointing - like good oven chips and small portion. The coke also on the small side. No fancy sauces and the joint is headachy lights and very tacky - but none of this mattered. Everyone in there was sat by themself reading their papers, savouring the experience like me. And only €8.40 for the lot. Best burger in Dublin yet

Last nights , didn't take a pic but got another to have.

Tescos finest (horse) steak with monteray jack and jalepno melt, with lettuce n tomatoes sprinkled with grated double Gloucester with chillies.

Nice and fiery

I'm thinking of writing a book called 'burger off' with reviews n ting , unless one of you nicks it, anyone want to come on board ? May involve travelling to test burgers ? ( can't do expenses but royalties ya ! )

I was a wimpy kid, they were amazing , then one day in London aged about 9 I discovered Wendy's square fuckers , mind blown much ? Ja . We saw the Golden Arches over the road but cared not for the scary clown. Then it exploded mcd went for it and we got sucked in . BK got involved with better but pricey alternatives. It's only been in the last decade IMO that the gourmet burger thing has gone for it ( and I totally approve innit )

But you are probably right the elite got there first

Are you eating any other food when you go out Cheesy? :D

Yes!!! I had sushi the other week (yo! sushi), and scampi and chips at annuder new joint, 'Supermiss Sue' off Grafton Street. Both times i resisted the burger options. I only had one burger when i was on holiday recently, and none in London last weekend.

This is the next burger i want to try in Dublin:
Roasted Garlic Burger (with Roasted Garlic Cloves, Garlic Butter and Aïoli)

Has anyone been to Dirty Burger in Vauxhall or even the really shit named "StEakX in the City" yet?

I need an Urban review before I spend my hardly earned cash.....

The fast food industry has pushed the culinary accelerator through the car floor and a foot deep into the road. Everything has changed because of it, from what we eat, how we eat, where we eat and when we eat. With burgers we've gone from beef on a bun to burgers with toppings/ingredients/cooking methods that most folk back in the 40's wouldn't even recognise. Total food mechanisation and standardisation, a cheeseburger here is the same as one in Germany. Try doing that 100 years ago...

On the plus side our diet now consists of more than cabbage. :)

Not had a burger this year

Bloody hell. You on a health drive or something?

Yesterday I was sat on a ledge at Malham Cove, holding the rope for my mate as he attempted to scale steep overhanging cliffs. He invited me to have a go, but I declined to save myself the embarrassment of looking like a 9 year old on their first time at a climbing wall. As I looked over the beautiful landscape of the Dales, bathed in golden sunshine, the likes of which I have not seen this year, I thought to myself about how I need to start getting a bit fitter and healthier so I could properly enjoy this summer.

I had large zinger meal with a mini fillet on the side on my drive home today.:facepalm:

Has KFC improved in the last 7 years? The Double Down intrigued me, I'd have broken my chastity for one of those.

If people want to turn this into an 'Urban Burger Book' I will cover Dublin's burgers

If you call up the manager of a joint and enthusiastically tell them what its about, they'll probably give you a burger for free (you would be amazed at the amount of free food you can get if you are writing about it...)

I'm not a massive fan of the chicken, not had it for years, tried it the other day and reminded myself why I don't bother.

The burgers on the other hand a pretty good, nice and succulent with some crisp lettuce and the hash brown I think adds to it all. Mini Fillets are a bit of a bargain at £1.50, compared to McDs in the same price range.

I thought reviews weren't supposed to declare their interest? :hmm:
