Burger Thread. Yes!

... I'll be back to provide a full damning critique when I get a chance :)

I'm hoping that it's just me and Mrs Voltz and our expectations and tastes being out of kilter with what is perceived as a quality burger

I'm hoping - - - but I doubt

So this happened.... at long last, very expensive but OMG it was lush.... £14:50 for burger (double bacon cheese and mushroom) fries and drink....

I did however have a pretty good burger at the newly opened Burger Craft (at The Exmouth Arms, Euston) on Saturday:

that looks like my perfect burger and chips...hope it was heavenly cos it looks it (can actually hear my stomach growling!)

i had a pretty delicious burger yesterday in a hotel....the patty was top notch the ingredients good but it wasnt divine....the cheese was tasteless and let it down....and the chips were disappointing, but we also ordered a full plate of darn good ricotta tortellini on the side. It was in a tomato chilli sauce, with lots of fresh parmesan and garlic bread. So it turned out alright, like.:)

Had a gorgeous cheeseburger, vanilla milkshake and sweet potato fries today in Dublins best burger joint, Bunsen. i was weak with the hunger and it went down a treat

I've been dithering about signing up for a jiu jitsu thing in Dublin next month and now I'm thinking I should go just so I can have one of these burgers you keep raving about afterwards :D

Been to long since I've had a burger that didn't come from somewhere like McDonald's. Not helped by the fact my gf is almost vegetarian and I now live in a village.

I need to find other people to go with me to consume a pound of meat in one sitting :hmm:

There's one of those 'five guys' places opened near me. They have sacks of spuds piled up in the restaurant, part of the decor like. That's the kind of down-to-earth, folksy touch that only a crack team of branding and marketing executives can give you.

The burger wrapped in tinfoil, the plain packaging, straightforward menu, the silly name; all of it is carefully calculated to look as unpretentious as possible. Everything except the prices.

Had a pretty good burger in Berlin on Tuesday at a place called 'The Pub', although I didn’t get the best picture (It my defence it was taken after a new litres of beer):

They also had beer pumps on your table and you ordered food from a screen

I had a burger at brgr&beer in Croydon on Friday. It was the best burger in Croydon imo. Thats not actually saying much though :D It was £8.95 for a cheeseburger with fries (rosemary or canjun). The portion of chips wasnt huge but it was a decent meal and the burger was tasty. Im a bit unsure about their choice of cheese (smoked ?cheddar) as I think it too some of the flavour away from the meat. My OH had their special, El gaucho - beef patty with guacamole, chimchurri and ...other stuff. He really enjoyed it.

I want to go back! They also do beer battered pickles?!

I tried, that new burger place in dublin. Menu is the size of businesscard, does three burgers only. And three kinds of fries. Got. V bad food poisoning and have been staying clear of burgers for weeks now

Someone suggested we go to the handmade burger co the other day. I was expecting a posh fast food outlet. You've still got to order at a counter, but it's brought to the counter.

It was nice but it was also 17 quid for a double burger chips and coke. Nice as it was I will not be going there again!

I got bad food poisoning at bunsen. I think. 3am exorcist sick. Its kept me off burgers for weeks now.

Mind you it was a tasty fucking burger. Better going in than out.

I had an amazing burger at the Parrot Inn just by Leith Hill. It had bacon and cheese,it was cooked to juicy perfection, and it came with a large amount of crispy chips. And it was only £10.95. Recommended if you're ever out that way.

Nasty :( I didn't go in the end, would've had to wait for ages and I had a plane to catch.
