Burger Thread. Yes!

I had an incredible burger tonight.

Smoked pork burger, pulled pork, mustard sauce, all the salads plus roasted peppers, APPLE AND VODKA KETCHUP and fries. It was so lush, I had to get extra ketchup.

Where was that from?

If you look at his tweets 4 out of 5 are posts about McDonalds. Chucking in a rave review about BK or Honest Burger doesn't prove he's not a shill.

It's registered to domains by proxy which is a awful lot of work to disguise the owner of an amateur burger blog.

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the burger companies started bunging him cash to review their burgers, tweet about them etc. and I wouldn't blame him if he took it either. Just so happens it's McD. Not so long ago his logo looked like the BK logo.

He's review 3 times more menu items from McDonalds than Burger King. Make of that what you will.

Revolution Bars have got a novel new burger or two....

The Smokin' Bacon Burger with......WOTSITS?!?!
SMOKINBACONBURGER_DESKTOP_1146x380.jpg

Smoked cheddar cheese and bacon with BBQ fried onions, smokinnaise, chorizo ketchup and Wotsits

Also the
Hell Fire Fizz Bomb
Spicy pork n’duja with smoked cheddar cheese, roquito peppers, suicide sauce, big easy mayo and to top it all off, popping candy.

What's going on?!! Which to try??

What are peoples opinions on having just cheese and a decent patty in a bun?

I've been able to replicate that taste of McDonalds cheese burgers with decent patties and a combination of american mustard, ketchup, and onions.

It seems to me that condiments and quirks like wotsits are there to hide a shite patty. I'm certain this is why there is so much sauce and veg in a big Mac.

If a burger is of good quality and has been cooked well all that is needed is a bun and maybe some cheese!

cheese and red sauce. Popping candy in a brioche bun with wierd sauce is all very well, but the simpler burger has not lost its lustre either

When I make burgers I don't add much sauce and prefer to have the salary on the side. Lot to be said for tasting the meat.

Mind you I order Quarter Pounders in McDonald's without sauce.

Popping Candy and something called suicide sauce does not seem like a combination I'd ever want in my mouth at the same time. Ever.
Mind you, Wotsits are are rancid. Tough call, but smokinnaise? That can bugger right off, as well. :D

I like the idea of experimenting with the cheeses more though, I normally do mine with sliced edam. Am considering a blue cheese next time, even though it might overpower the meat. Will report back on weds

Ketchup is a staple of most people's burgers and is usually a welcome addition but I'm finding that often I'm happy without it.

Use one of these bad boys and it's so succulent I find condiments are often not needed:

We went to Buddies for burgers yesterday.
http://www.buddiesrestaurants.com/Menu ALL not BC March14 NEW PRICES.pdf

I had the Hell's Kitchen - Cajun spice rub, cheese, jalapeňos, house steak sauce, mushrooms and fried onions. I upgraded to a brioche bun and it came with fries and coleslaw.
All of it was great, the patty itself was juicy, tasty & perfectly cooked and the toppings complimented each other perfectly.
Last time we went the fries were anaemic and disappointing, but this time they were cooked to perfection.
