Everyone saying Germany are a great team. I disagree. I think the standard of the international teams has been poor this year. Germany are just a good team playing shit ones.

Beating, in the commentator's words, "the worst team ever to reach a semi-final" doesn't make you a great team, even if you thrash them.

Be fair. To beat a Brazil side 7-1, in Brazil, in the semi-final of the world cup is fairly special. Granted, it's not a classic Brazil side, but, even so...

Mrs Spy reckons it was all rather "un-sportsmanlike" and that the nasty Germans should have given them a bit of a chance after 5- Nil.

:D:D:D:D:D

Sometimes a team get lucky and has a very good day, even against a very good team.

We didn't just witness that. We just saw an awesome German team literally rip a quality side to shreds.
Germany struggled against Ghana and Algeria dont forget.
Brazil have been a shambles all tournement. No way are they a quality side.
I think Colombia would've given Germany a run for their money with a decent ref tonight

If you all want to be really mean, there will be footage out there of the FIFA fan fest on Copacabana beach. Coming soon to Argentine websites on the internet. I don't want to see it.

Why was Fred getting booed?

Well, he's a striker who hasn't scored many goals or looked like he was going to. He hasn't even really got involved in the build up play or shown any skill or aptitude in this tournament.

Plus, there is a tendency amongst a crowd to blame a particular player for the failings of the whole team and Fred seems to be the unlucky recipient of that. There are some really interesting psychological studies on that if you want to look into it further.

And he's called Fred.

Great teams aren't underdogs before the match, don't struggle against Ghana, and beat USA more than 1-0.

As I said, they're a good team. But they're not great.

I reckon they're just about the best team in the world at the moment.

That is interesting, thank you.
