Boycott twinings tea

i've had a de-facto boycott in place for some time, so this action is one i can really get behind.

also, bunch of cunts.

I don't drink tea, so count me in!!! I shall carry on not drinking tea for this cause. :)

"We as a region need these jobs and investment as much as anywhere in Poland."

Well, not quite. Twinings is clearly behaving badly in its use of EU funds. But in general, employment arbitrage moves employment where it's most needed, even if it's done for selfish reasons.

Same here.

In fact, I'm going to start picking up boxes of twinings, take them to the checkout with my other shopping, and then say 'oh, actually, I'm not going to buy this twinings tea, i'll put it back on the shelf instead'.

See how they like them onions.

Don't you remember trolley protests? They used to involve cape apples and outspan oranges, and were a common sight in urban supermarkets. Presumably dates are the focus these days.

Dont beleive that "market knows best" Arb bollocks at all
These guys have just job used creation grants to pay for shifting their factory/HQ, they should have to pay it back and get a fucking hefty fine into the baragin
Its fraud, plain and fucking simple
I dont drink their piss weak shite anyway

The lgical consequence of a global labour market is an even and equitable distribution of income. I'm not sure whether I like the idea or not, but it's ridiculous to pretend that labour protectionism is anything other than a selfish and parochial concern.

And their Assam is lovely.

Idiot

They have lied in order to receive a government subsidy
The logical consequence is that they will be bought by a tea producer, say Tata, not that they will steal wedge to move to Poland, hardly tea central

Well, yes, I agree that that's reprehensible. I'm just taking issue with the Geordie in the linked article who whined that they need the jobs more than the Poles, which is clearly bollocks.

I don't remember trolley protests but throughout my childhood buying anything South African was verboten in our family. My Dad accidentally bought a tin of South African peaches which stayed in the cupboard for months, he said he was going to give it back to them by throwing it through a window at South Africa house. It didn't happen, they just mysteriously disappeared :hmm:

I still have to double check myself even now.

Not being a tea drinker I will be fully supporting this action

i was never allowed reeboks when i was young.:(

Twinnings tea has always been shit anyway. It's just tarted up floor dust from the tea factory. Even PG tips and Tetley nicer.

Unfortunately most cafes seem to serve Twinnings by default

Are onions not okay either? :(

I too don't drink tea. It's my favourite kind of righteousness, this - where no effort is required on my part. Similarly I shall continue to boycott all the less-than-ethical manufacturers and producers of whisky, pickles, rollmops, tripe, aubergines, celeriac, gingham, and hot pants.

Actually who gives a fuck if they move to Poland? I'm sure Polish people are very happy about it.

There's some right xenophobes on here masquerading as socialists.

I expect the 286 people who are going to lose their jobs at a time when it's going to be extremely difficult for them to get another one give a fuck.

What about the people gaining jobs in Poland? I guess if we have a big boycott some of them might lose their new jobs rather quickly - serves them right the thieving Polacks

Not if there are not enough jobs to go around.

The point of the EU subsidy is to create new jobs, to the benefit of all workers, not shift them to more desperate economies until another one becomes desperate enough to compete on wages.

I hope you don't mean you're still boycotting South Africa!

I remember doing one of these in Sainsburys when I was about 19.
