I find it odd that the police hasn't explained what they think is the cause of the deaths, and why they've arrested a bloke on suspicion of manslaughter.

We've had two recent deaths off Worthing's beach, and the police came out straight away with what had happened in both cases.

I would guess that the two things are connected.

We've had two recent deaths off Worthing's beach, and the police came out straight away with what had happened in both cases.

Perhaps in those cases they didn't arrest anyone on suspicion of manslaughter.

I read about that yesterday evening, I know the Bournemouth area well and was very surprised as it's not the sort of beach where you would expect something like that to happen.

It sounds a real mystery why are they holding a man in custody?

Interesting, it's been operating in the area for years, and it doesn't look like it produces big enough waves to put ten swimmers in trouble, I guess only time will tell.

Depends on the speculation surely, any sort of 'loonery beyond the pale obvs but there's lots of other perfectly legitimate possibilities - your 'basic decency' seems a very movable feast when you think of other recent tragedies we've speculated on/discussed
