Bournemouth beach deaths, May 2023

I find it odd that the police hasn't explained what they think is the cause of the deaths, and why they've arrested a bloke on suspicion of manslaughter.

We've had two recent deaths off Worthing's beach, and the police came out straight away with what had happened in both cases.

I would guess that the two things are connected.

We've had two recent deaths off Worthing's beach, and the police came out straight away with what had happened in both cases.

Perhaps in those cases they didn't arrest anyone on suspicion of manslaughter.

It does seem a bit odd the story on the Beeb seems to be "Nothing has happened but two people are dead and someone has been arrested over it"

I read about that yesterday evening, I know the Bournemouth area well and was very surprised as it's not the sort of beach where you would expect something like that to happen.

It sounds a real mystery  why are they holding a man in custody?
This was the latest I've read....

Because that's what people on the internet do. I'm not defending (or attacking) it, just stating a fact.

There is not a great point to most things we post here, after all.

Two out of three ain't bad

Interesting, it's been operating in the area for years, and it doesn't look like it produces big enough waves to put ten swimmers in trouble, I guess only time will tell.
