Bobble hats - wtf?

I'm more of a watch cap kind of person... preferably in wool, not acrylic.

Everything ubiquitous is irritating, and I don't really have anything against bobble hats but I do hate the fact that they're everywhere. Also, I did a class on Friday night in north London and there was a 50 year old man (he mentioned his age and the fact that he lived in east London :D ) wearing shorts  and a bobble hat  throughout. Unfortunately we were allowed to drink in the class so as the evening wore on I got more and more determined to let him know my feelings, especially as he had a beautiful, stylish, lovely French girlfriend who I thought he didn't deserve at all. At least his pompom was hand made and not real fur, though.

I can't wear hats. Being an Aspie, I can't bear anything on my head. Which is a shame because I'd love to be able to wear something like this toque. 51144_3_0_0.jpg

At home though, I do have a sock monkey called Jeff who wears a toque with pride!

Has the population devolved to 6year olds or something?

My thoughts exactly. And it's not just hats, folk nowadays are infantilised in a thousand little ways to make them less likely to spot the neoliberal sword of damocles dangling above them as they frolic through the miserable zero-hour, generation rent existence that lurks behind the delusional shimmer of childish unicorn-sparkle bullshit.

My friends who are in a completely hopeless situation, seemingly, spend a lot of their time photographing toy daleks in a dolls house and telling little stories about them. It's cute but ultimately they are just avoiding reality. :(
