Not sure about the modern day uni idea to be honest. Mind you they were up to world war 1 last time and doing ww2 would have been too simalar.

I think that was mooted at one time. But that was perhaps only 20-25 years after the hippy thing. 50 plus years now and it's likely seen as too dated.

they just couldn't come up with a strong enough idea after BA goes Forth & I'd be very surprised if they managed it now. All the shows are about the class system so it needs to come up with something relevant about that

Yeah was about a band called "the black adder 5". Not great idea but better than the uni one.

Not sure why being dated would matter though as it was always historical settings.

I'd be surprised if such comfortable establishment figures could be a part of this and not make something comfortably establishment. Yes, Oxbridge etc but there was an element of the new/anarchic/different about the old series'. Maybe the mere fact of the characters themselves being already so established will ameliorate against the worst Curtis/Elton tendencies but that remains to be seen.

Years ago they talked about doing a series in an Oxbridge college, which gives lots of scope for class tension. Baldrick as a lowly porter. Fry and Laurie as toffs with Blackadder as a grammar school boy made good.
